LONG BEACH, Calif., Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ Epson America today announced its plans for Labelexpo Americas, the continent's largest event for the label, product decoration, web printing, and converting industry, being held from Sept. 9-11 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. Epson will be showcasing its full range of prime, sub-prime and GHS label solutions, as well as a laser finishing unit, in its booth, #5813, as well as participating in the Inkjet Trail, which challenges five of the leading inkjet press manufacturers to produce identical label designs. Epson will also be showcasing upgrades to the SurePress  L-4033A/AW digital label press, including a clear sensor that will allow for printing on a clear substrate with a clear liner, as well as improved Variable Data Printing processing for maximum label customization.

"Labelexpo provides the ideal venue to showcase the new SurePress  L-6034VW and L-6034V single-pass industrial press with Epson's proprietary PrecisionCore  printhead technology for the first time in the U.S." said Michael Pruitt, product manager, SurePress, Epson America, Inc. "In addition, we are very excited to be participating in the Inkjet Trail, providing an opportunity to show attendees how the SurePress presses stack up against competing solutions when color accuracy and quality are on the line."

In its booth, Epson will be showcasing the Epson SurePress L-6034VW and L-6034V Epson's first single-pass industrial presses using PrecisionCore technology in a linehead configuration, and the first to offer Epson's new LED-cured UV ink with in-line digital varnish technology. The SurePress L-6034V/VW are designed for label converters investing in a digital label press for the first time or looking to expand their production facilities with a reliable, easy-to-use press that will produce high quality, durable labels all day, every day with minimal downtime.

Epson will also be showing the SurePress L-4033A/AW easy-to-operate inkjet digital label presses that make high-quality, short-run label printing easier and more efficient. Delivering exceptional print quality and accurate color reproduction, as well as innovative printing features, the L-4033A/AW are cost-effective and reliable solutions that allow printers to expand their service offerings and improve profitability.

As part of the Labelexpo Inkjet Trail, each of the five inkjet manufacturers will receive the same origination for a food, personal care and industrial label and provide labels using the same paper, film and foil substrates provided by Avery Dennison, FLEXcon and UPM Raflatac. Epson will be printing on the SurePress L-4033AW and show attendees will be able to collect samples and compare the results for themselves.

In addition, Epson will be represented in several conference program panels and discussions, including the following:

  • Panel Discussion: Investing in Digital On Sept. 9 from 3-4 p.m., SurePress customer Steve Middleton from Middleton Printing will participate in a panel discussion focused on making the right decisions based on a business model, and making digital more affordable by reducing costs while delivering high value print and product quality
