Epson MFP's

Here are more pics of the Epson MFP's. I think there is a niche for this but I am not sure we will go down this road or not. We are looking at their large format as everyone and their brother carries Canon Wide Format in our market now. The machine does have meters to write service contracts with it which is interesting to me for an ink machine.

Looks like a nice compact footprint. What do the CPP's look like?  None of the manufacturers we carry have come out with a compact & affordable desktop color MFP with remotely competitive CPP's.

The cpp for color is 1.9 dealer cost and retail is 3.9. Black and white is less than a penny. Pretty impressive for ink IMO.

Would you sell these in click deals or CPP?

I believe both would be fine. We try to do no cost per page agreements. We try to put everything with a base minimum and probably do so 95% of the time.

I've seen the black print quality and it's so so at best.  Would be a good MPS device.

Yeah the print quality is not great by any means. I think it fits a small office with a user or a couple users who haven't used anything but throw away machines before. Sweet spot is apparently 1k - 3k per month

So what are the main value propositions for dealers and their customers that Epson is communicating?

 

Are they pushing a lot of dealers, or are you unique Jason?

They are pushing it as a cheap alternative and they are big on what Ed McLaughlin shared recently talking about ink making a big comeback. That machine has a dealer cost of something like 1,400.00

 

They said they want one dealer in each state and no more. Will see how that pans out.

What are you trying to sell this unit for? 

We are not selling it now. We are probably going to take on their wide format line since everyone and their brother has access to canon wide format. I ran some fairly large jobs 100-300 sheets at a time and the machine started printing out half pages, blank pages, and smeared pages. It definitely is geared toward the one man office and we have Lexmark and Samsung for that.
