Kip marketing info says that DWF printing is standard these are Autocad type files but cannot be opened in Autocad?). Is this true and can they do batch DWF printing?

I copied both a DWF & DXF file into the CFG folder of the 240W and neither one would print. My assumption is that we cannot print these files unless the DXF is opened and printed through Autocad and that the DWF files need to be opened in some sort of viewer and then printed using our windows driver?

With the new 480W and the DWG/DXF/DWF Option, will be be able to batch print using Plotclient WIN like we do with PS files?

Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to close a deal on a 240W and at this point, I am under the assumption that we cannot print these files but that the KIP can print DWF's all day long?

Just to make sure we're all on the same page... The new RW-480 has the capability to print native DWF files within a PCWIN job set without launching AutoCAD's Express View first and printing from the application. Technically, when you insert a DWF ( or a number of DWFs) within a PCWIN job set, that will automatically launch Express View when it hits PLOTBASE and then print it on the RW-480. This saves the user the need to open each DWF in Express View and then print the drawing(s) from the application through the Windows driver. It is a very convenient option if you print native DWFs frequently imho.
So you are saying that the 480 will print without launching AutoCAD Express View by opening AutoCAD Express View?

Just kidding, I know what you mean. This means the USER does not have to open each file in the application, the Plotbase software will automatically open and print each file.

This *should* work much better than the DWG printing since DWF should be setup to print correctly without user intervention.
