You must print out the config page and get the accurate page volume. From there you have to find out when the unit was purchased and the 'assume' the monthly volume.

I do not know of any other way to get the iformation, unless there might be a way through HP jet admin.

The HP Maximum Monthly Volume on the 2500 is 30000, thought this is the MAX published, and that is all they publish, you can figure out that recommended is well below that.

Color toner is 4000 black is 5000 at 5% on yields (REALITY on color is about 25%-35% average coverage on a color page) HP Supplies are spendy, and drum life is 20000 so you can see that the ave monthly recommended volume would be significantly lower than the 30000 that they tout as max.
This might be more than you asked for, but here goes...

The Configuration page lists current settings and properties of the printer. Print a Configuration page from the printer, the embedded Web server, or the HP Color LaserJet 2500 Toolbox. To print the Configuration page from the printer, press (GO) and (CANCEL JOB) simultaneously. (The Supplies Status page also prints. If an HP Jetdirect print server card is installed, the HP Jetdirect page listing the HP Jetdirect information prints as well.) The printer configuration page consists of five sections.

The Printer Information section contains basic printer information, such as the product name, printer name, and page count.
The Event Log section contains information about printer errors.
The Installed personalities and options section contains information about optional items that might be installed, such as DIMMs or an HP Jetdirect print server card.
The Memory section lists memory-related information, such as the total memory installed.
The Paper tray information section contains information about the trays, such as whether optional trays are installed, and the type and size of paper that might be set for each tray.
