Just in the last two weeks we have had one ship-out where the ARDF and Cabinet went straight to the end-user. On another order, the customer agreed to pay express charges to get it here as quickly as possible. Ricoh doesn't seem to know the meaning of express ship because it didn't happen. We tracked the order all the way to our door with a tracking number that ended up not having the machine as part of the shipment and when the machine did finally get here, it wasn't the S/P we ordered, only the basic model. We have now incorrectly told the customer 3 times that their machine would be delivered.
Our dealership has had 15 ship-ins in the last two months, and as our ship-in coordinator as a courtesy I always call the ordering dealer (introduce ourselves, touch base, provide contact info, that kind of thing). Every single one of those dealers report problems using the DMAP system. My most recent ship-in, from a dealership in Florida, reported that he entered the order in June but Oracle didn't process the order until September. My counterparts at many dealers tell me that they are now avoiding using DMAP and shipping directly to the installing dealer out of their own warehouses. In fact, that's what we're about to do for our next ship-out.
In our case, we had one we placed in June that didn't ship until mid-September. THEN it shipped to an Ikon dealer 2 1/2 hours away from us.

Ikon shipped it to us, and it was damaged when we received it. When Ricoh shipped it again, it went to a different Ikon location (again, 2 1/2 hours away from us). We went and picked it up this time.

Our DMAP orders are shipping everywhere but to us -- Including one to Texas in mid-September (we still haven't seen that one).

We have stopped ordering DMAP whenever possible -- hey maybe that was their plan... to make it such a headache to order DMAP that we would quit ordering DMAP and purchase at the higher prices. (just kidding)

The Quickest DMAP order we have received was 2 1/2 weeks after placing the order.
I personally do not know much about DMAP ordering. We see at least 3 boxes hit the door each month, and the dealers who send them say the same thing you guys are saying. On a different note, we have several hospitals order from the Healthtrust Program. That is one program that is slower than DMAP. One hospital ordered a 2027 back in October and they wanted to lease the system. By the time the order was finally placed after the legwork on the lease was done, I installed the machine January 30th, and the system was replaced with the 3030. If the big guys want us to increase the sales, they better look at the problem areas in Processing first. We hold up our end of the deal.
