Cuyahoga County expects to save $900,000 a year when it cuts out more than half of the printers and copiers from dozens of offices, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

The county already has removed 825 printers and plans to remove 1,200 more by the end of the year, the newspaper reports. It has about 3,900 printers and copiers, nearly half the number of workers the county employs.

The savings will include ink, toner and energy expenses along with cartridge recycling. The county also will lease about 400 machines that can print, scan, copy and also serve as a fax machine, the newspaper reports.
