City of Lewiston

LEWISTON -- The City of Lewiston was made aware that flyers distributed at the Nez Perce County Fair were printed on a City copy machine. It was determined that a City employee did, in fact, make the copies, and the City has been reimbursed 10 cents per page.

City employees were instructed prior to the election not to use City resources for election-related activities unless required by law or as it pertains to their job duties. This matter is being treated as a personnel issue, and the City is taking appropriate action.

City Clerk Kari Ravencroft has come forward and offers the following statement:

“Prior to the Nez Perce County Fair, I made copies of documents on a City copy machine for the purpose of distribution at the fair. This action was not requested by any member of KEEP Lewiston, nor by any employee or elected official of the City. These copies have been paid for, but City Policy clearly states that I should have not used City equipment. I am truly sorry to the groups on both sides of Proposition One, and the City of Lewiston. My actions have compounded an already extremely stressful time, and I want to express my deepest apology to all.”
