Having signed a similar agreement in 2016, CGI has penned a new deal with house builder Taylor Wimpey to supply managed IT services. The partnership currently spans 15 years, and its continuation will see CGI help its client accelerate its digitisation programme.

As the fifth largest independent information technology and business process services firm in the world, CGI now hosts approximately 77,500 professionals worldwide, serving thousands of global clients from offices and delivery centres. With its British headquarters in London, CGI also has a growing presence across the UK. Earlier in 2019, CGI took its tally of offices in the UK to 20, with the launch of a new presence at the former Soapworks in Salford. The firm followed this up with the opening of another location in the North West, adding an office in Liverpool, and later a new Cyber Security Centre in Bridgend, Wales.

The firm’s continued efforts to strengthen and add to its services has seen it win another five-year contract renewal with residential developer Taylor Wimpey. The UK firm last updated the contract in 2016, when it handed CGI a £22 million deal for CGI to provide service delivery and technology managed services, as well as helping the home builder to improve the connection between technology initiatives and business objectives by way of its governance and relationship management model.

CGI signs new five-year renewal with Taylor Wimpey

Now, CGI and Taylor Wimpey have penned yet another five-year contract renewal for managed IT services, meaning the firms’ partnership will span around two decades. Under the terms of the new contract, CGI will provide IT services to enhance Taylor Wimpey’s operating and support models. This will see Taylor Wimpey’s technology capabilities in digitisation evolve and accelerate – including an enhanced user experience, the responsible use of private cloud solutions, self-service improvements and the application of other emerging technologies – while the deal also provides for an on-site CGI presence for on-going local support.

“This contract renewal will help us to continue to drive significant service improvements, allowing us to focus more resources on what matters most to our business - our customers. It enables us to extend our long-standing relationship with CGI, ensuring smooth continuation of services, while further capitalising upon the knowledge and expertise that CGI has already acquired whilst working with us,” said Andy Feldon, IT Director at Taylor Wimpey.

Donna Kelly, Senior Vice President for CGI’s South and Midlands added, “We are delighted to have renewed our contract with a company of the calibre of Taylor Wimpey. Our team very much looks forward to partnering with Taylor Wimpey to continue to improve its technological capability.”
