LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Apr 02, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging and office solutions, today unveiled four new 36-inch imagePROGRAF large format models --the iPF765, iPF765 MFP, iPF760, and iPF760 MFP -- which make printing large format technical documents more efficient for design and engineering professionals working in personal and small workgroups. Each device has a new horizontal stacking basket for 24” x 36” plots, ensuring prints stay organized and flat once they have been printed. To create a one-piece solution, the imagePROGRAF MFP printers are equipped with a new integrated stand, allowing the printer and scanner to be attached. In addition, both new imagePROGRAF iPF765 models have a 250 GB hard drive (of which 32 GB is dedicated file-processing memory) to streamline the workflow for a networked environment or for those printing larger-sized files with complex images.

The new, versatile Canon imagePROGRAF printers are optimized for use by professionals in a variety of different markets including Computer-Aided Design (CAD); Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC); Geographical Information System (GIS) and other technical document professional areas to produce large technical documents or posters in color. The included software utilities are highly valuable to users in the retail signage industry as well as general office environments. The ability to quickly print technical documents up to 2400 x 1200 dots-per-inch (dpi) with precise lines can provide a tremendous professional advantage for organizations that rely on this speed and accuracy to stay relevant in a competitive market.

Both the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF765 MFP and iPF760 MFP imaging systems provide a wide range of features and workflow solutions making for an extraordinary value to many different types of printing environments. In addition to the new integrated stand, both models feature the ability to use a new swivel monitor mounting system for easy maneuvering of the monitor toward the front of the printer. Each printer ships with the most-recent SmartWorks MFP software which has all the tools a customer needs to easily print, copy, scan or edit large format technical documents. The system also features a Ci C40 color scanner with a 40-inch scan width for A0, D and architectural E-size scans and true 600dpi optical resolution.

“The update to the imagePROGRAF printers represents Canon’s dedication to companies in the large format printing market,” said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Marketing, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A. “Canon has taken an award-winning solution in the imagePROGRAF series and listened to our customers on how we could improve it. With the flatbed stacking we have now enhanced the user’s productivity and efficiency making these devices a natural fit to meet customer demands.”

The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF765, iPF765 MFP, iPF760 and iPF760 MFP printers are designed with the everyday workgroup in mind, with an easy installation option against a wall to save precious space in an organization’s workspace. These ENERGY STAR-certified models maximize productivity and ease-of-use with media loading and ink replacement from the front of the machine and a sub-ink tank system that ensures uninterrupted printing.

All four Canon imagePROGRAF models ship with Printer Driver (PC only) Optimization Module for AutoCAD and also have a new interface lock system that enhances the security functions and provides an option for administrative control to determine who can have access. Enhanced accounting functions are also included to collect printer job log information such as client ID, ink and media consumption, media type and output size. Users are able to efficiently and easily obtain estimated printing costs from this technology as an easy way to track in-house usage or for billing customers. A Print Plug-in for Microsoft Office also ships with all new models, enabling users of any skill level to create large format printouts of documents, images or illustrations that were created by Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint programs.

The Canon imagePROGRAF models are scheduled to be available in mid-April through Authorized Canon Dealers, Premier Partner Resellers and Authorized Distributors.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) is $4,995 for the iPF765 printer, $8,995 for the iPF765 MFP printer, $4,495 for the iPF760 printer and $8,495 for the iPF760 MFP printer.
