Canon U.S.A. Launches imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2200 Series of Color Multifunction Office Systems
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. --
Designed for busy workgroups that demand efficient workflow in a compact space, the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2200 series of color multifunction office systems from Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, allows users to gather, organize and disseminate information to help them meet the unique needs of their office environments.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2200 Series is built on the next-generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform. Launched last year, this platform is designed to be the core of digital business communications where imaging technology, cloud connectivity, and mobile solutions converge. Each new model brings a variety of enhancements to the design, workflow, control, performance and environmentally conscious attributes.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2230 and imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2225 produce up to 30 pages-per-minute (ppm) and up to 25 ppm output, respectively, for both color and monochrome letter-size prints, while featuring a scan rate of up to 51 images per minute. Both models have a maximum paper capacity of 2,270 sheets and can handle up to 12” x 18” paper. With the ability to access and leverage the capabilities of other connected imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices, these models can not only serve as a stand-alone multifunction device in a small or remote office but also as an addition to an existing fleet of devices in an enterprise setting.

“With the ability to integrate hardware and software solutions, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2200 series allows organizations to customize their devices to best fit the way they work,” said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Marketing, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A. “These intelligently designed, highly flexible systems can be easily updated or added as the needs of the business change and integrated with other devices to strengthen and grow fleet environments.”

Advanced Design

With an intuitive interface displayed on a seven inch, full-color, tiltable, high-resolution TFT screen, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2200 Series helps users accomplish tasks quickly and effectively. The main menu provides instant access to commonly used functions, and on-screen quick menu buttons can be customized to meet specific departmental or user needs. Fitting in a space as small as 34” x 27”, its compact size is achieved with innovations such as Canon’s space-saving vertical toner transfer technology and the availability of an optional internal staple finisher that provides professional-quality output without adding to the footprint.

Advanced Workflow

Like all imageRUNNER ADVANCE models, the C2200 series can serve as a digital communications hub, integrating enterprise applications, connecting to certain cloud applications, linking to other devices in a company’s fleet, and giving users the ability to work efficiently from anywhere. With drag-and-drop functionality, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop Quick Printing Tool allows users to print, fax and convert files to PDF format without opening the native application. These new models are also equipped to take advantage of several mobile and cloud-based solutions – customizable for different needs and price points – that enable users to securely print and scan from a variety of mobile devices such as laptops, iPad® tablets and iPhone® or BlackBerry® smartphones.

To help automate complex business processes, Canon offers MEAP-Web to allow applications to be developed via web services with integration on the device through the imageRUNNER ADVANCE Web Access software option. This allows in-house developers, partners and integrators to build customized solutions that leverage information from back-end enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, and content management systems.

Advanced Control

As security and control become increasingly important, Canon provides tools to easily configure a system, migrate settings, safeguard data and track resources. With new imageWARE Enterprise Management Console plug-ins, an entire fleet of imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices can be centrally monitored for usage information, updated with the latest firmware, and configured with new applications and settings.

With Canon’s server-less Advanced Anywhere-Print (AA-Print) solution that includes a login application called Universal Login Manager, users can print to a connected Canon device and retrieve their documents after authentication at any supported Canon device on their network, and IT administrators can track usage and enforce printing controls when needed. Each model is also equipped with a tamper-resistant security chip, which protects passwords and encryption keys. In addition, the standard HDD Data Erase and HDD Lock features help protect information even after the hard drive is removed.

Advanced Performance

The new imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2200 series incorporates Canon’s state-of-the-art imaging technology for reliable delivery of crisp, clear output. In addition, fast and consistent processing speed is delivered through Canon’s advanced imageCHIP architecture that features two dedicated processors that work together to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously. These models also feature a new Quick Startup mode that allows users to get started in as little as seven seconds from Main Power Off.

To further enhance productivity and flexibility of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2200 series, a variety of paper feeding, finishing, printer, security and accessibility options are available for an additional cost, including a booklet finisher, an external staple finisher, and an additional cassette feeding unit.

Advanced Responsibility

Users will benefit from energy-saving and environmentally conscious features built into the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2200 series. The new models have a low Typical Energy Consumption (TEC) value and consume very little energy during sleep mode. Print drivers are defaulted to duplex documents, encouraging two-sided printing to reduce waste. Organizations can further control their resources through intelligent device management solutions that help optimize the use of toner and paper. In addition, the combination of fusing technologies and low melting point toner helps lower overall energy consumption.

Maintaining Canon’s commitment to lowering environmental burdens, the new models employ components fabricated with 100 percent recycled plastic from retired products. They also include bio-based plastic, a plant-derived compound that replaces certain petroleum-based plastic parts.

Availability

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2230 and the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2225 are available through Canon authorized dealers and Canon Solutions America, Inc. at manufacturer's suggested retail prices of $9,660 and $6,615, respectively*.
