Melville, N.Y., April 16, 2020 – Canon U.S.A., Inc. – Latin America Group is please to introduce the new imageRUNNER award-winning imageRUNNER ADVANCE product line has been completely refreshed with the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX models. With even more advanced scan functionality, easy-to-implement cloud-ready capabilities, and a foundation of strong security, this new platform, along with the recent updates to uniFLOW Online with the introduction of 2020, will help enable and support our customers in their digital transformation initiatives.

Here are some key highlights of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX Series, along with recent updates to uniFLOW Online 2020:

  • Simple and Flexible – imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX models feature a modified user interface with soft number keys similar to a smartphone or tablet; while staying true to the core usability from previous models for easy adoption and smooth transition. A modern, sleek design allows users to easily retrieve their prints, and the new feeder provides a flat workspace to place and organize documents.

The recent introduction of device-based licensing for uniFLOW ONE makes selling and implementing this solution simple, aligns well with a customers’ existing leasing structure, and removes the consideration of fluctuation of number of users throughout the lease term.
  • Advanced Scanning – To address the needs of customers with high scan volumes and initiatives to transform remaining analog information and processes into digital, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX models introduce a new document feeder featuring fast speeds of up to 270 images per minute (BW/Color, Duplex) for all A3 models. Depending on the segment, this could be up to 69% faster than predecessor models. Smart technology allows for digital skew correction as a native device feature, and increased media support through the feeder for various applications that include things like checks or receipts.

Now with uniFLOW Online, basic scan functionality is included with every print license with access to many cloud destinations. Users can also now create a Target Folder Path using the scan template wizard to scan directly to a specific folder rather than navigating a complex folder path, or create a new folder right at the device.
  • Strong Security – Security is at the core of Canon’s development of technology and solutions and this grows even stronger with imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX. The strong security features of the predecessor line will all be supported with the new models, including McAfee Embedded Control protect against cybersecurity threats by using whitelisting to prevent the execution of unrecognized malware or tampering of existing firmware/applications.

We also continue to evolve our security offering along with industry trends and customer needs. With imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX, Canon is among the first in the industry to support the latest TLS 1.3 encryption protocol. FTPS Support has also been added which is becoming a more common requirement for bid business.

These security enhancements are included in the Unified Firmware Platform (UFP) V3.10 that is now also available for previous editions of select models in the third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform (1st, 2nd, and 3rd editions).
  • Enhanced Cloud – The new lineup will support enhancements to cloud-based solutions to help enable flexibility and workflow efficiency. uniFLOW Online now includes the Universal Output Queue which supports all devices with a single driver, regardless of manufacturer or model. And, with the addition of Print via Cloud, uniFLOW Online has more flexibility on where the job is stored to support any customer requirement – including environments with many devices, multiple locations, and remote workers.

Model Availability will vary by region.
