I understand that this new promo was based on the last promo they did in 09. This is the last hurrah for the systems that were delivered in 08 and 09. Instead of stealing business they (all manufacturers) need to concentrate on getting net new clicks and placements. Not very creative on Canons part.
Canon wants those clicks back from IKON when IKON was placing the Canon boxes. This is why they have been very aggressive to get these clicks. It has been very successful because there have letters that have been sent out to IKON Canon customers stating that IKON will NO longer provide service on the Canon box. As a result the customers love Canon but are being told they will no longer get service.....so IKON (Ricoh Direct) is trying to flip the customer to Ricoh when the customer loves the Canon product.

These ARE net new clicks for Canon because Ikon was getting all those clicks before. That is why Canon wants those clicks back.

Hate to burst some people's bubbles but nobody loves a copy machine that much. Those systems are either
A)upgraded/switched service with another canon dealer
B)Unfinancable customers print shops etc..
C)Upgraded with someone else
D)Waiting till the very last moment of their lease

We have upgraded them regularly, stayed with Canon, switched to Savin or Konica they really dont care that much
