Canon CFO Mulls Japan Supply Chain Problem

TOKYO -- As Japan's blue chips digest the implications of the March 11 disasters for supply chains concentrated in the country, Canon's CFO said that while his company won't shift its own key factories abroad, it is actively talking to suppliers about having them review their production locations, while seeking additional suppliers to ensure it doesn't get stung again.

"The biggest headache for us since the quake is the procurement of parts," Chief Financial Officer Toshizo Tanaka said in an interview.
