Hey Gang,

I am looking into Canon's dealer program/promo structure, particularly the new Canon Cash program, and would appreciate any insights.  Questions are below..

Thanks a ton, as usual.

  • Canon has its standard dealer wholesale prices. Can Canon offer promotions below these prices?

  • How does the Canon Cash Promo work?

  • It looks like if dealers use Canon Cash promotions, they forfeit several promotions such as Aftermarket, IPF, and Scanner. Are the dealers using Canon Cash over these promotions?

  • Canon dealers user Canon Cash for some deals and promos for others, or is it all or nothing?

  • If dealers that generally use Canon Cash order a MFP from Canon, do they have the option of using Scanner promos and not Canon Cash?

  • Does Canon Cash require dealers to send in customer information?

  • What Canon promotion / program type do you prefer?

Second year of "Canon Cash".  Every dealer utilizes this system now(instead of Canon Classic).  Pretty simple... 10 to 15 % off the top depending on the segment.  Scanners, printer wide format not included.  No customer documentation required.  A dealer must meet certain revenue levels (quota) to utilize.  CSMP support can be requested above and beyond...

This new Canon Cash is working out a lot better than the Classic Program in my opinion. We almost needed a new admin position created just to keep up with Canon's old program for every little thing. In my experience though, and anyone else can correct me if I am wrong, Canon does not really do anything "extra" in terms of programs. I was working a deal for about 10 machines, some large, some small and Canon said no pricing help was available. They said if we wanted pricing help we needed to sign up for one of the large commitments (CSMP). That's very backwards from my experience with Ricoh and Samsung.
