Hey Gang,

Trying to get a feel for how Canon and Ricoh incentivize their dealers to push specific lines.

Basically, how does Ricoh's A3 BW MFP promotions/programs to dealers differ from its A3 CLR MFP Promotions/programs?

And...

Same question for Canon, how does Canon's A3 BW MFP promotions/programs to dealers differ from its A3 CLR MFP Promotions?

I know both want to drive color MFP sales of course, but Canon continues to dominate the A3 BW segments, so its possible that Ricoh sees a need/opportunity to grow its BW A3 MFP share at Canon's expense.  Conversely, its possible that Canon feels like its doing just fine in A3 BW and is placing more emphasis on A3 Color MFPs...

Any insights would be very much appreciated.

Jake,

I have seen nothing in terms of either giving incentives for any machines other than standard little programs. I have tried and tried to get canon to put together some strong programs and all our rep tells us is that the price is the price. Of course on the Ricoh side you have everyone running around selling machines through the non profit pricing as long as there is a govt building or American flag hanging within 50 miles of where you want to place the device. Based on some recent deals I've worked it sure seems like Ricoh and Canon gives the directs plenty of incentives and programs but that's another topic in itself.
