HUNTSVILLE, AL, Aug 01, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Cabinet NG, provider of electronic document management and workflow management software, today announced it has changed its name to Cabinet (dropping the 'NG'), in order to build on its core brand identity and simplify its presentation to attract new prospects and customers.

Since being founded as Cabinet NG in 1999, the company has helped clients successfully make the transition to centralized document management, allowing them to operate in multiple locations, support remote workers, meet compliance requirements, reclaim office space and solve a wide range of business problems. The name change is simple, effective and more accurately reflects Cabinet's expertise in document management, workflow and content sharing solutions.

"The 'NG' stood for next generation, but we have progressed way beyond simply offering the next generation of a filing cabinet and felt that our name should represent who we are today, as well as who we will be years from now," said Andrew Bailey, president, Cabinet. "Workflow, on-premises and hosted offerings, our new SHARE portal, and integration with a variety of third party applications are just a few examples of how much we've grown as a document management provider."

In addition to simplifying the company's name, Cabinet has revamped its website, making it more user-friendly and easier to navigate. The former website, www.cabinetng.com , can still be accessed, but users will be immediately transferred to the new site at www.cabinetpaperless.com . Since a paperless solution is green, in both senses of the word (saving the environment and money), the site's color scheme has been changed from red to green. Cabinet has also updated its social networking sites at www.twitter.com/cabinetSAFE , www.facebook.com/cabinetpaperless , and www.youtube.com/user/CabinetPaperless .

"Most of our customers and partners already call us 'Cabinet' so we do not anticipate much change on that side of the business. We have always offered an efficient, secure, accessible solution that was simple and easy for our customers to use. Now, so is our name," said James True, VP of product management, Cabinet. "Additionally, our overall strategic vision for the company remains the same. As we continue to see companies mixing hosted and premise-based technologies to form hybrid solutions, it gives us the opportunity to build an even bigger presence for our online product, offering customers a complete document management solution that matches their financial and technical resources, and their business needs."
