BTA East will be hosting its fifth annual Grand Slam district event, open to members and non-members from across the country, on Oct. 2-3, 2012, at the Doral Arrowwood in Rye Brook, N.Y. This event will be a great setting to learn from industry leaders, gather new ideas and network with your peers.

The event will feature a keynote presentation by Norihiko Ina, president and CEO of KYOCERA Document Solutions America Inc., and five additional education sessions presented by industry leaders providing insight and business strategies that can help any office technology dealership reach new heights. In addition, there will be time to visit with 30-plus exhibiting sponsors, many of which will hold drawings for great prizes during the event. Dealer attendees can also enter on-site for a chance to win a $500 American Express gift card and be entered into the BTA District Event Sweepstakes.

The event schedule also includes time for fun. Attendees will see the Boston Red Sox take on the New York Yankees from the vantage point of a private suite in Yankee Stadium. In addition, tee times have been reserved for Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Doral Arrowwood's golf course, which is critically acclaimed as one of the most difficult in the country. Reserve your tee time on the registration form below (Nine holes = $50).

Art- I will most likely be there just the 1st afternoon & into the night. A couple of us will commute back to Jersey that 1st night then go back for the 2nd day too. (I doubt I'll be going the 2nd day) But I will for sure look for you while I am there. I find myself reading this site more & more lately, you have quite a think tank of people that are members.
For those of us that are going below is the schedule of events:

Tuesday, Oct. 2 4 p.m.: Keynote Session: Norihiko Ina, Kyocera Wednesday,
Oct. 3 8 a.m.: Teri Dunn, Print Management Solution Group
9:45 a.m.: Todd Johnson, Strategic Business Associates
11:15 a.m.: Mike Adams, Power Appointment Setting
1 p.m.: Lou and Andy Slawetsky, Industry Analysts Inc.
3 p.m.: John Barbieri, CompTIA Of course, for full information on these sessions, you can visit www.bta.org/BTAEastEvent.
the turn out was fantastic! There were more than 30 vendors and no vendors that were addressing managing the print stream. I had the chance to sit next to Jim D from Muratec while we listened to Nori from Kyocera. At the end od the keynote speech, we were asked if we had any questions. Jim D from Muratec asked itf Kyocera was buying Sharp! It brought a great roar from the crowd and Nori only stated "that's the rumor" and he chuckled and said nothing more.

The BTA events should be attended by every dealer principal and they should bring two, three or four of their top sales people. There is so much to learn just from the vendors.

Tomorrow starts the seminars and I expect them to be awesome, in the evening everyone is leaving for the Yankee game. I'll be heading hope since I'm no yankee fan, will report more tomorrow. Follow my twitter feed for updates.

There were 36 vendors at this event. I'll be posting a blog titled" my top 5 solutions/products of the event in the next day or so.

Kyocera: Besides Nori have a heavy japanese accent, he was at times very hard to understand what he was saying, thank goodness for the power point slides. However, it seems that all of the manufacturers are now sharing the same slides!

Business Process Optimization, find the pain, be a consultant to solve workflow and business problems with the use of software, imaging, cloud, etc....Nothing new here

There was a total of five seminars throughout the course of the day and none of them were longer than an hour and then a 45 minute break to meet with vendors, and network with peers.

I would guess that there were at least fourty dealers at the event. I meet at least 10 p4p members and that was a lot of fun since the only contact I had with them was via the forums or email.

At the end of the event there about 30 of the suppliers lined up and gave out their door prizes, now that's pretty cool because if youwon one prize you could not win again, so I would ten to guess that 60% of the group walked away with some type of door prize. I won a top of the line surge protector! Woohooo

I'll give a little more insight on some of the speakers later, but it was an awesome event. Maybe I'll put something like this on one day. I must say that I got more out the of meeting with the sponsors since I am not a dealer owner (at one time I was a dealer owner). I'm sure most of the dealer principals did enjoy the what was presented especially by Mr. Johnson (can't remember his first name). more to come on this
