Konica Minolta is releasing its first bizhubs to incorporate its new “touch-and-swipe” Info-Palette touch-screen interface, the bizhub C754/C654, Wirth Consulting reports.
Partner Electronics for Imaging also announced availability of an optional Fiery IC-414 controller for the units.
The new nine-inch Info-Palette colour touch-screen features touch-and-swipe operation similar to that employed in many smartphones and tablet PCs, as well as a simplified menu system and customisable icons. The touch-screen also features an eco-indicator that enables administrators to monitor paper, toner and energy usage by device, account or end-user.
“Combining innovative new design and functionality features, the bizhub C754/C654 series brings the two key elements of speed and high-impact colour to businesses of any size, while also offering a broad range of advanced capabilities that address the needs of the entry-level production user to redefine productivity,” Yahoo News quotes Kevin Kern, senior VP, marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions US, as saying.
“This new series is an ideal solution for vertical market customers with a number of features targeting their current needs and future opportunities, making it just another reason why customers can count on Konica Minolta to deliver hard-working, digital printing solutions that optimise print and document workflow efficiency.”
The bizhub C754/C654 series offers enhanced security by way of Konica Minolta's bizhub Secure and other advanced options including Biometric Authentication and HID Proximity Cards for protecting sensitive documents. In addition to featuring Konica Minolta's exclusive Simitri HD polymerised toner, built-in Emperon print system, bizhub OP (Open Platform) technology and PageScope Enterprise Suite, the bizhub C754/C654 series achieves among the lowest power consumption rates in its class – even lower than the standard specified by Energy Star certification.
