I've had a few people ask me about this the last few days. I have recomended a few Bates Stamping solution w/Ricoh copiers.

Here's my solution:

We all know that we can not do a "bates-stamp" with copying on most of the Ricoh units, however all of our machines can now scan. I instruct the customer to scan the document to a folder on the network and then open the Bates-Stamp software and then select the icon for electronic documents, select the type of stamp that you need, after that you just import the pdf file or tiff into Bates and Bates will do the rest. Also, another neat feature is that you could make a copy of the original document and then insert the copies into our paper tray or by-pass (which ever you prefer), from there you can select the icon for "Paper Documents". Bates will then out the stamp on the copies that you loaded into the system.

I have the customer purchase a "bates-stamp" software solution. The one I have recomended is Bates Professional Bates Professional. This resells for $599 for 1-5 network users, additional licenses are $10 each. Leasing Bates-Stamp for 5 years would add about $10 a month to customers payments and they keep the software at the end of the lease.

Now, will this help us against Canon with embedded Bates Stamping?, my quess @ $10.00 per month, you can add more value and more features with this type of solution, plus you also get the benefit of the Bates Scanning solution. I do not know if Canon offers this with their embedded solution. Bates will also offer the customer different types of stamps.

Keep in mind that you can download a free trial from the website to customize a solution for a customer.

Hope this helps, I ould also like to hear from others for what type of solutions you are using.
