Altec officially released the doc-link Smart Client in Spanish to meet global demands for integrated document management for Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage and SAP B1 Users.

Laguna Hills, CA (PRWEB) April 12, 2012

Altec Products, Inc., a leading provider of integrated document management (IDM) and workflow solutions, today released the Spanish version of the doc-link Smart Client. This is the foundational user interface for doc-link – the area where users go to manage their document and workflow processes.

The increase in global demand for integrated document management, as well new doc-link Software Distribution Agreements in various countries, has driven the development of the doc-link Smart Client to be written using language files that can be translated into other languages.

A recent document management implementation with a major automobile distributor in Bogota, Columbia drove the decision to develop the doc-link Smart Client in Spanish to enable the workers to manage and process workflow events in their native language.

“While doc-link was already able to support regional date and number formats, as well as multi-currency, Altec’s globalization strategy included the ability to provide doc-link in other languages,” says Merri Jo Cleair, Product Manager for doc-link. “As the global demand for paperless processing continues to rise, we are excited and ready to respond with regional translations to meet customer needs,” she added.

One of the side effects of the IT revolution has been an increase in paper consumption. On average, businesses use twice as much paper as in 1980. “Going Green” best business practices have indeed contributed to the global interest in document management.

Brandt Morrell, President and COO at Altec, describes the trends that Altec is experiencing. “There is evidence that an organization’s “green credentials” provide an important message that can boost new business and increases brand association. Fuel, vehicle, emission and additional paper are all reduced where electronic processes are in place. Document management is a mature technology giving increased efficiencies, storage savings and customer service improvements.” He added, “We are positioned to meet the global needs of ERP clients as their environmental awareness and paperless interests continues to evolve.”
