Is there anything else that would cause wear lines on the drum fairly quickly. It has a new drum and blade,pm kit was just done. The old drum had these lines on it too and i had posted this before and people said the dev side seals but its happening at least 2, 2 1/2 inches in from the back of the drum kind of like a bushing may be worn or something to that nature.Just wanted to cover all my bases before i order the side seals.Machine has 500k on it.Thanks for any ideas.

slight dev pull and caught under cleaner blade causes it , but most time its the mylar seals on dev unit, does pm kit include these? in any event something toching the drum has to be scratching it either touching it and not supposto or a seal that is dried out and abbrasive or warped putting too much pressure, put a bright flashlight on it and find it. sometimes transfer/second feed mylars move, cleaner unit seals get bent by techs or heat ect. goodluck

We change the drum cleaning entrance seal at 300K because toner builds up behind it and pushes it out (seal AD04-7023,tape for seal A232-2280)we also change the rear drum drive shaft with bearing at 450K (AD01-5020) any questions email me,there is also a mylar across the bottom of the pcu unit that was removed in a tsb it is the tapered one along the lower frame.

Is the charge roller turning properly with the drum? (It can be bound up because these are such dirty machines). Also, with light developer pulling, the charge roller cleaning sponge will help that developer cause damage. I'm sure I can think of more issues given time. But any of these can cause drum lines. (Thank goodness I'm down to only 6-8 of these left in the field).

My opinion: Make sure all PM parts and dev are good (dev likes to collect paper dust). Then make sure that all internal machine settings are all set to defaults (in case some other tech was trying to compensate). Then perform all upgrades and TIBS that Ricoh has published. Then hope for the best.

charge roller binding has been the culprit in my experience. Does the "charge roller cleaning roller" update fit 450's? Can't remember, but the older foam cleaners seem to impede the charge roller turning causing wear on the drum. Also the bushings get toner in them as star1 was saying.

over time toner will harden in the bushings of the dv auger which can then find its way to the drum try a dv change and take out the dv auger and clean well you will also notice that the toner screen on the auger is clogged not a bad idea to clean that as well. problem still comes backtry swapping drum unit there is actually a life on those even though ricoh doesnt tell you that, about800k
