I have a customer that just purchased a 2090. They need to do sets with mutli-colored pages. No were in the manual does Ricoh tells how to set the paper trays to different color stock, than how to set up the machine to do this job. They do sets with up to 5 different color stock.

The other need is, they have one orginal and want to make 5,000 copies. But after each 50 copies they want in insert a color color to seperate into sets. They make pads. This is a print shop.

Thanks

I dont have that manual but on all the othermachines it is call "chaptering" where a specified tray holds paper that is fed after a certain specifed original is fed. They would have to sort the different colored paper before they put it in the tray as only one tray can be designated.
Look in the op man under Chapters.
On the machine menu it is usally under cover/slipsheets.

Pre-collating the stock is not a solution. With the six drawers wouldn't it be nice to be able to pull from different drawers when using the Document Server? I have a school with just this application - White, Color, Different Color, Card Stock, several more white and another color/stapled and punched. New Student Packages with Emergency Notification Profile on card stock.
The problem is solved. In the first problem. Use batch mode. You can pull from any tray. The second problem is a little more involved. You need to go into user tools, copy settings, INput/output and set up separation sheets per job. Go back to main copy screen request the number of sets, turn off shift sort, request separation sheet per set. Place orginal in doc feeder and select start. To give credit were credit is do, my Ricoh trainer came up with this. Here name is Amy Randilla. She is great.
