Often when large organizations approach us to talk about print management, a common problem is that their help desk department gets a lot of printing related support calls. In this blog post, we're going to list some of the most common printing related problems that help desk representatives in such organizations have to deal with.
WAN related printing problems
When we say "large organizations", we mean organizations with at least hundreds, sometimes thousands, of printers in many different locations. Often, printers in remote offices are networked to central or regional print servers over WAN, meaning that each print file is sent over WAN twice (once to the print server, and then back).
Of course this can create problems with printing, such as slow printing speeds, print servers not being reachable, or print file transfers being interrupted.
