Well, as far as how the competition counts, I can tell you that the Océ machines count square feet *EXACTLY*. So if you print a 30x42, you get exactly 8.75 on the meter. It does not round, up or down, in any cases. It is a mechanical meter that shows in 1/10 of a sq. Foot increments (for .05, the number moves half way) with a digital display on the controller.

As far as the 480, It only has the digital meter, and it does not show fractions. We'd need to run a few copies to see how it rounds. Hopefully Chops can tell us =).
