had a customer faxing a 50 page document. machine says memory full after about 20 pages. also, you can put 40 documents in the doc feeder and select two copies and sort(so it will put into memory before copying starts) and it will do the same thing.we tried the same in our demo room with a configuration page. no problems. tried a document with more toner coverage and bingo, problem showed up. add a hard drive and it fixed the problem! just memory isn't enough.

Standard memory is 2MB which is 160 pages at 5%. 5% isn't much coverage. I posted some percent of fill sheets that has a 6% sample in them. Also, if you have any legal pages, forget it. They seem to take up about 3-4 pages of memory each. We have started using a company out of Canada for our memory needs. I am attaching a price cheet of their stuff. I know it is from Oct. and they do have a more recent list. The newer list has some of the new items for the new machines that aren't on here. They even have the HDD's for all the machines (fax and copiers) the great thing about this stuff is that they are Genuine OEM RIcoh products. You might ask how they can have Genuine Ricoh memory and HDD's so cheap. Well...they are the manufacturer in Canada that makes the stuff for Ricoh Canada. Since they have a contract with Ricoh Canada, they can't sell this stuff to the dealers in Canada. However, they can sell all they want to the USA (and do)! They even will be willing to negotiate price if the order is large enough. Give them a call if you want a more up to date item and price list. However, this is great when the customer has the machine and needs more memory. You can make a great deal of profit using these OEM products.
