Xerox has introduced the latest addition to its mono range of Nuvera digital printers, the 200, which it is targeting at transactional and short-run book applications.

The mono engine can output up to 200 images per minute, equal to 100 A4 pages a minute, and treads the middle ground in a Nuvera family that spans speeds from 100 up to 288 image per minute.

The Emulsion Aggregation (EA) perfecting production system prints at resolutions of 4800x600dpi and is claimed to excel at the printing of high-volume jobs, including statements, books and manuals.

Its latest Nuvera uses the firepower from a brace of print engines to run in tandem, but can also operate in single mode if one engine requires servicing.

Xerox' newest machine prints using its patented EA toner, which is said to result in a smooth offset-like matte finish.

The modular Nuvera portfolio can be configured with a raft of in-line feeding and finishing systems that include booklet making, perfect binding and coil binding.

Xerox has also introduced a new finisher in the shape of the GBC eBinder 200, which can stack, register, punch, and insert a plastic comb to automatically bind pages.

Malcolm Glynn, marketing manager of monochrome solutions, production systems marketing at Xerox UK and Ireland, said the combination of productivity, innovation, finishing and workflow options "give print providers maximum results from their investment."
