At 26 pages per minute (letter) in both color and black & white, the new magicolor 3300 is the company's fastest color laser printer yet. A tandem laser printer, the magicolor 3300 is developed for business workgroups and is available in two models—the magicolor 3300 EN and the auto duplex equipped DN. In both configurations, the printer can deliver up to 26 letter-size pages per minute, at 1200 x 1200 dpi, in both color and black and white.
The magicolor 3300 has PostScript 3, PCL 6 (including 5e, 5c, and XL), PDF, HP-GL, and line printer emulations to provide broad application compatibility. Additionally, the printer comes with a 450 MHz RISC processor and 256 MB RAM (expandable to 512 MB) and supports an internal 2.1 GB hard disk. The magicolor 3300 includes 10/100BaseTX multiprotocol Ethernet, IEEE 1284 parallel, and USB interfaces integrated on the controller. The printer uses an original printing technology called PRISMLASER that combines the cyan, magenta, yellow, and black toners into a single image for toner placement and accuracy. The magicolor 3300 has three selectable quality modes within its driver to give customers latitude in deciding how documents should look.
MINOLTA-QMS provides internal automatic color calibration software and advanced users have the opportunity to further control color output by downloading personalized ICC profiles, using available press simulations, or selecting other color support options including PANTONE Color tables.
The magicolor 3300 features a web-based management facility and includes two paper input sources—a 500-sheet standard cassette that supports up to legal-size media and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray that accepts sizes up to 8.5" x 35.4" including heavier paper stock as well as transparencies, envelopes, and sheet labels. An automatic duplex kit (standard on the DN model) is available. The magicolor 3300 EN is priced at $1,999 and the duplex-equipped DN is priced at $2,199.
