240w horizontal background on 1st print

Sounds like high humidty, first print of day. Try turning the drum dry switch on a placing a "dryer bag" in the roll feeder.

Art, I looked up the Anti Condensation heater located near the drum in the manual specifications. According to the manual, the purpose of this heater is to keep the copier free of mostuire which could cause paper feed or fusing problems.
The prints have background across the leading edge, appears the charge unit is not fully charging on the first few inches of the first print of the day, but what is causing the charge to fail at this moment only? Could mossture do that? Certainly would make sure the heater is on if I could find the switch.....my manual is not a searchable PDF.

We have accounts very close to the Ocean. I have seen something similar with a few accounts. I have amde this suggestion to them and that did solve the issue. I'm just stating this could be the solution. I would try it.

Art, I referenced the service manual. According to the manual the anti condensation heater located by the drum unit operates as follows:
When the main power switch or operation is switched on, the heaters switch off.
When the main power switch or operation switch is switched off, the heaters switch on.
This unit internaly controls the anti condensation heater. Maybe there is a setting in the SP to keep it on at all times?

Anyone know of other Tec Site, I can get help...? Last two problems I have still exist, really need to get these units working.
