2017 BTA National Conference to be Held

Aug. 16-18 in Las Vegas, Nevada

 

BTA member dealers receive 2-for-1 registration;

can use $150/$250 discount codes received with membership

 

Kansas City, MO — The Business Technology Association’s (BTA’s; www.bta.org) 2017 BTA National Conference, hosted by BTA West, will be held Aug. 16-18 at the Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas, Nevada. Open to dealers from across the country, the event will feature: a keynote address presented by Meridith Elliott Powell, president and CEO of MotionFirst Inc.; a dealer panel focused on culture and innovation; eight additional educational sessions led by industry leaders; the presentation of the 2017 Channel’s Choice Awards; and time to network with peers and more than 40 exhibiting sponsors, including breaks between sessions, a welcoming dinner with entertainment by humorist Devin Henderson, and a Cirque du Soleil Mystère performance at Treasure Island Hotel & Casino.

The 2017 BTA National Conference will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, with welcoming comments and the keynote address, “Vision, Strategy, Execution: More Than Just Business Knowledge,” presented by Powell and sponsored by Static Control Components. A break, giving attendees time to visit with peers and exhibiting sponsors, will follow. Breaks between sessions on both days will also give attendees additional networking time. A welcoming dinner featuring “When Life’s Hard, Laugh Harder!,” presented by Henderson, as well as the presentation of the 2017 Channel’s Choice Awards, will be held from 6:30 until 9:30 p.m.

The second day of the conference will begin at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, with breakfast, followed by opening comments and the first three educational sessions: “Sales Evolution: Delivering Results From Both Transactional & Strategic Sales,” presented by Mitch Morgan, Growth Achievement Partners; “Selling to Gen X,” presented by Darrell Amy, Dealer Marketing; and “Is 52-Percent Aftermarket Profitability Realistic for Your Organization?,” presented by Ken Staubitz, Modern Office Methods.

Lunch will be served after Staubitz’s session, followed by the three afternoon educational sessions: “Assessing the Health of Your Dealership,” presented by Jim Kahrs, Prosperity Plus Management Consulting Inc.; “Services-Focused Selling: Is It the Right Approach for Your Company?,” presented by Doug Johnson, LMI Solutions; and “What’s Happenin’ in the Imaging Industry,” presented by Andy Slawetsky, Industry Analysts Inc.

Thursday’s educational sessions will wrap up at 4:30 p.m. and attendees will have time on their own until 7 p.m., when they will travel to Treasure Island Hotel & Casino to see Cirque du Soleil’s Mystère performance.

The final day of the 2017 BTA National Conference will begin at 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, with breakfast, followed by the dealer panel, “A Strong Culture’s Impact on the Implementation of New Solutions & Strategies,” moderated by Jennie Fisher, GreatAmerica Financial Services Corp. The panelists: Brett Butler, president and CEO, Excel Office Services, Los Angeles, California; Debra Dellaposta, president and CEO, Doing Better Business Inc., Altoona, Pennsylvania; and Gary Harouff, founder and president, AIS, North Las Vegas, Nevada.

After the dealer panel, the final two educational sessions will be held: “Effective Sales Management,” presented by Tom Callinan, Strategy Development; and “Manage the Process, Not the People,” presented by Gil Cargill, Cargill Consulting Group Inc. The conference will conclude with closing comments and exhibitor prize drawings. Dealers can also enter the BTA Events Sweepstakes during the 2017 BTA National Conference.

Non-member registration with a Mystère ticket is $249.

As a front-runner to the conference, the Seat-Based Billing (SBB) Road Show, presented by Clover Imaging Group, GreatAmerica Financial Services Corp., Office Document Consulting, Print Audit and Supplies Network, will be held on Aug. 15. This one-day learning event will arm dealers with all the necessary components they need to successfully deliver a SBB program for managed print.
