Ricoh sent a notification to customers stating that the company is implementing a surcharge on certain hardware deliveries, service calls, and supply shipments due to the rising fuel and freight prices. Apparently, this is in lieu of a fixed price increase. Has anyone heard about this or know what the surcharge is?

I have dealers who routinely add a $5.00 Admin charge to every monthly cpc invoice to cover unexpected rising costs. I guess with ever increasing product and tranportation costs, these kind of surcharges should not be unexpected. Certainly every freight company charges a variable fuel surtax with each delivery.

have that here in the States also. Does a surcharge ever go away?

I believe RIcoh Direct is $10 surcharge per onsite visit starting May 2nd. Excluded will be certain accounts, State and Government machines and Schools. There may be other surcharges for supplies.
