Re: It’s The End Of The Day With Ray! 2020 Who Will Educate Endusers

Art Post ·
HI Ray and Happy New Year! The A4 Revolution will not happen until those A4 manufacturers provide A4 print devices with the A3 cost per page model along with advanced scanning and finishing. You're right that's there's only a small percentage of users that need 11x17. However 11x17 is only part of the picture with end users needs. Larger document feeders, and stapling is still a requirement in many offices. As you know we could debate this until 2021 or longer, but the end game is advanced...

Re: It’s The End Of The Day With Ray! 2020 Who Will Educate Endusers

Ray Stasiezcko ·
Art, Thanks for comments it's conversation which starts change. There is way more applications for A4 MFPs than those few applications you suggest. The large disruption will be from those who can isolate the realities of the customers needs and sell based on those realities. Declining Marketplaces are disrupted when the old way continues delivering to all the market's customers the same way they did before the decline. The old way needs to focus on the realities of over 80% of the market...

@Monte very true! Very well could be when. I will say with car buying, a friend of ours just bought a new car online - paperwork done digitally, car delivered to her house, and either a 7 or 14 day period that if she didn’t like it or want it anymore they come back and pick it up no questions asked. I often times get caught up in what “I” do and how “I” buy and not how “others” buy.

Re: 10 Ways to Close Net New Business #4 of #10

Art Post ·
Just a short update in reference to the account I was speaking about. The IG came back with many additional questions today, asking if the cost per page could be lowered, the annual cost of the maintenance agreement, and the price of the system. I stated NO on all accounts. We had started with a 25ppm color A3 device and then moved to an A4 color device. They were not even happy with that price. In addition when they received all of the no's they asked about pre-owned or used. I then stated,...

I heard the same "small commuter plane" thing from my Digital Pager (ha) news alerts. I thought that sounded strange and turned on CNN in time to see the second plane hit. I also went to a customer to do training (in Nashville, TN), but when I arrived, their doors were locked. I knocked and someone inside peeked out. They opened the door, I explained why I was there and they said they had sent all the employees home. I had a friend who worked in WTC Building 7. He decided to call in sick on...

The last thing I'd do is lowball that deal. If you win it on a lowball bid and the customer isn't happy with your image quality they are going to torture you. You're going to need plenty of margin in that deal to make up for the aggrivation you are going to get out of it.

Re: Why is single clicking an 11×17 on a “copier” legal?

CashGap ·
Actually, the real misleading practice is when the machine is set to double-click 11x17. It is one piece of paper, one printed page, one click. Like having a car odometer that registered two miles when you drove the car one mile uphill, or registered two miles when you drove one mile at high speed. The industry simply developed its own conventions with the single/double click convenient for both the end-user and the dealer. Rather than a click rate for each paper size (similar to two...

My brother had to wade through chest deep water just to make it home from work. Keep them in your prayers, it will be a while before they return to normal. Vince

I'm a security guy. As soon as this client mentioned an end-of-lease security concern my first thought was to shred the drive. I've seen quite a selection of software on the market with claims of getting rid of the data for good but upon further investigation it's not 100% reliable. We're only as reliable as the solutions we offer. The obstacle here is that, apparently, leasing companies don't care to have hardware returned to them with the HDs in 1000 pieces. If that number of businesses includes resturants and retail, you have a tough row to hoe my friend. Really, number of businesses is a poorer way of gauging one territory vs another than number of employees. However, the only "accurate" way is to use the BEQI (pr. becky) Index. That stands for Business Equipment Quota Index which is a market quota index for B&W and Color MFP's, B&W and color printers, and Fax's. It makes it possible to compare different territories b county, metro...

Boy, it looks like our whole company is responding here. As a former "real" tech, and long time service manager of a long time Ricoh dealer and relatively new Kyocera Mita dealer, my opinion is that over all, the Kyocera products are much more reliable, have much longer PM cycles and require much less service time for both the infrequent emergency calls and PM's. Bottom line...much cheaper to service! Although the 2035 is an improvement over it's predecessors (350, 1035) it's not a herritage...

40% of my business last year came from Schools or Government.
