Selling AEC Wide Format? HP is ready to Kick Some Ass

Art Post ·
Just found this on the web today. This is not a new technology for HP. It is the HP pagewide technology. I have a client that I share with multiple vendors that has two of the HP Color PageWide (XL 8000) 30ppm wide format MFPs and loves them! 2 million square feet on the devices with zero issues, good ink yields and the original print heads in place. I'm no expert with HP PageWide but it seems like they took one of their existing PageWide printers and slowed the print speed (someone please...

The XL3600 is not based on PageWide tech but traditional inkjet with the moving printhead. The idea was to build it in the look of PageWide XL (and competing laser/led devices) with the trays for the paper rolls so it looks more robust/reliable to the end users, but the device itself is essentially a redesigned version of the DesignJet T3500. This is targeted at the entry level market to compete against mono laser such as the MP W6700. The selling points are that you can get a colour device...

Let's rehash this thread as I just lost a KIP machine to of these today. Main reason was they thought their KIP was 9 years old and parts should be available when it was actually 14 years old. Anyone have dealer price on this system. It seems like it is pretty cheap although I had heard dealer price was around $13,200.00, but based on the lease price I lost by, that doesn't seem accurate.

@Art Post yes, other than they thought their 12 or 13 year old Kip should still have boards available to be able to be replaced they looked at it as a straight price transaction. Said they bought it for around 11,000.00

Hi, I sell these in Europe. 11k is certainly doable. if we are talking about a single roll system we typically sell these for the equivalent of around 10.4k usd and for a dual roll system around 11.6k usd, but I believe we have (or perhaps used to have?) a lower purchase price in Europe. But as I said the pricing for this machine was aimed to compete with that of the MP W6700 and in my country the end user price for the W6700 starts at the equivalent of around 9.5k usd.

Sure, the 3800 is built with 4 rolls, has an auto height printhead adjustment and toner is about 25% of the cost and bundled 4 per pack which is great for higher volume users.
