Re: Who Will Be #1 in Market Share for 2009?

GMAN ·
Yes, Ricoh (with IKON, RBS, SAVIN, LANIER) still holds the #1 position as of end 2010 Q2 (April through end June 2010). Yet, they are down -18% (in terms of Units) as compared to the same time period last year (2009).

One of my clients is a car dealership, and they recently replaced (2) Ricoh MP2510's & (2) Ricoh MP3010's with (4) Lexmark XS658dfe's. The average monthly volume on each of these is around 7,500, so considering that the Lexmarks are significantly more productive and haven't had any service calls in the first quarter, reliability doesn't appear to be an issue. As a point of reference, I have a customer that has a Lexmark XS463de (40ppm desktop mfp) that runs almost 11,000 per month and...

Ricoh and Canon both say they are number 1 in the US and they are both right depending on how you are counting. Canon includes its desktop MFPs that sell in retail and Ricoh includes all MFPs priced above $1,000. Both include products that sell through any channel, but Canon has far more retail products that skew sales share in its favor. By Ricoh's math, it is number 1 with a 23.1 US share, followed by Canon. Ricoh also stated that it had the #1 color mfp share in 2009 (7 straight years)...

i'd say 1 every other week, but still most coming from brochure/pencil close. Its only hard if ppl arent serious buyers or serious about you. Our demo room is probably the envy of every dealership around- its like a new macintosh, unashamedly modern in appearance but your not afraid to play with it.. compared to other showrooms that are more like an apple II - all the current products (except seg 1) and all of the software we'd sell is ready to go.

Leasing and Section 179 Did you know that your company can lease equipment and still take full advantage of the Section 179 deduction? In fact, leasing equipment and/or software with the Section 179 deduction in mind is a preferred financial strategy for many businesses, as it can significantly help with not only cash flow, but with profits as well. Non-Tax | Capital Lease The main benefit of a non-tax capital lease is that you can still take full advantage of the Section 179 Deduction, yet...

We solved the problem. We changed a setting within InDesign CS5 from "Binary" to "ASCII". I do not know why this works since that same setting in InDesign CS4 is set to "Binary" but it fixed the problem. Much thanks to JasonR for taking the time to call me and discuss the problem. Not alot of people would do that and I really appreciate it. I have attached a screen shot of the change from within InDesign CS5. Feel free to comment on why this would have made a difference as I have no clue. John

Re: Top 9 Blunders that B2B Sales Reps Make

Art Post (Guest) ·
What they do: They give in to last minute demands from the prospect, usually for extra discounts, “or else the deal is off.” Why they do it: They’re deathly afraid of losing the deal at the end of the sale cycle, so they crumple when the prospect pushes. What happens: The customer rightfully concludes that 1) the rep didn’t offer the best deal from the start and 2) the rep lacks a backbone. The customer thus no longer trusts the rep and will constantly push for more and more and more and...

Unfortunately, the PCL5 doesn't resolve the issue either. Here is the best solution I've found so far. 1. When installing the print driver, you go into printing preferences and...

I think the local dealers biggest advantage against the National vendors is flexibility. Dealers naturally have much shorter chains of command due to having far less employees. At one time I would have said this series was the best built tabletop on the market. Three incarnations later this design is way past its prime. We need a completely new tabletop with speed and a touch screen. Ricoh is blowing it on A4. They took a hard line stance against A4 machines a few years back and now its biting them in the bottom. Ricoh is our main line but we are selling another manufacturers A4 probably 3 to 1 because Ricoh's product has fallen behind.

Those are great little units in the segment 1 & 2. They are a hot commodity based on a few criteria that separate them from the 5000 series. Mostly the difference are in the RADF, 1st tray and media weights. Qualifying the needs are very important. There is a few grand price difference from these to the 5000 series as well. We charge an inexpensive fee (1 hour labor) to format the hard drive, but if they want something more secure, we will remove the hard drive from the old machine and replace it with a new hard drive. For that, we charge the cost of the hard drive + labor and either destroy the old hard drive or return it to the client. That typically costs less than $500 and is easy to roll into a new deal. We've done this on Sharps, Canons, Toshibas, Kyoceras and Konica Minoltas. The hard drives are easy to...

Good thought....but that would never happen. Most of the time in a stream of payment situation I take the number of months left and subtract 1 or 2 depending on the situation then I use that to base the buyout. That will knock down the buyout...especially when they are paying $300-$400 a month. This will make a big difference when figuring the lease. That can actually win the deal. The big wigs do not believe in the stream of payments and prefer to wait until the lease is up.....guess what...
