COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Forty of Sales

Art Post ·
By the end of the week it will be two solid months since I was optioned to the home office. Could this really last for an entire quarter? I'm somewhat worried that many businesses will cease to exist if the our Governor does not open up the state for business. In today's address he was non-committal for releasing a time line of when we can re-open. He hinted at maybe something coming this week. All we can hope is that he comes to his senses and will realize that shutting down the state also...

Mondays, whether you hate or love them Mondays can sometimes define your week. Do you have a favorite Monday song? Mine is "I don't like Mondays " by the Boomtown Rats. Yes the eighties, yes I'm a boomer and yes the eighties was an incredible time to cut your teeth in the copier industry. I could write some stories that would rock your world because they surely did rock mine. Some of you reading this blog may have heard me tell you about the eighties and it's something I just may put in...

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Thirty-Seven of Sales

Thirty-seven business days now since I was optioned to working from my home office. The average number of selling days is twenty-two per month. Five days from now it will be two solid business months and 66% of the quarter. Our fearless and blessed Governor just extended his Executive Order for his Emergency Act for another thirty days in the State of New Jersey. I'm kinda torn about this now, 30 more days of working from home could be a good thing since I'm on such a roll and who wants to...

Ty @Kimberly trying to get it done! Our Governor is a real stinker. He lives about 5 miles from me in a huge mansion on the Shrewsbury River. On Saturday there was a car parade that drove past his house with horns, signs and they were all going 5 miles an hour. He still didn't get the message

We start back Friday. Governor supercedes our Dallas County judge who wanted until May 15th. Our office is in Dallas County though I live in one that has not been as restrictive. Power grabs and egos. The people are angry. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

A quick update on New Jersey for everyone. We're pretty much still locked down. Not much has changed in the last two weeks, although the Governor is giving us back some small freedoms from time to time. Today he announced the horse racing can resume in New Jersey by next week, although none of the grandstands will be open. I'm seeing this as a Governor that is desperate for tax revenue and placing wagers on the ponies and sports betting will generate some additional cash. Yesterday we were...

New Jersey is now in full swing for Phase Two opening. Our Governor announced today that in-door dining will start on July 2, in addition Casino's can now open in Atlantic City that day. The caveat because there always is one with our Governor is that a maximum of 25% occupancy. Most businesses are open with conditions for occupancy, health clubs, gyms, and pools are still closed. In addition most business offices are still closed. The statement today centered on people behaving, if we...

I feel like sharing our emails that work for obtaining appointments is something that should go to a private chat. Not knowing what competition abounds on this forum, it'd be like giving away our secrets to getting in on a deal. I've found a simple, quick intro followed up with a request has worked. Getting into specifics if you have them from your CRM has gotten traction, but it all really depends on the customer. One big thing, in particular these days, is the fact that I'm sure DM's or...

@TML Thanx for the reply. It's interesting about how we check and deal with incoming emails. For me it's completely opposite because I will drop what I'm doing to address the email and then move on. I'm sure there others like me but probably more like you. I've been more successful with emails rather than phone calls, and that's probably because I have some long standing relationships with many accounts. However every now and then I will turn the tide with a phone call and get the...

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Seventy Four of Sales

Well another blog I did't think I was going to write this evening. Late in day I was able to catch a news interview with our Governor. This is the same Governor that shut down indoor dining the day before it was scheduled to open yesterday. He puts the blame on other states that are seeing infections increasing because those states have opened indoor dining. Thus he elected to shut it down. He also based the decision on activities from the last weekend where many bars were packed and peeps...

Looks like all signs in New Jersey is pointing to at lease 100 days of working remote. Our Governor announced today is "pumping the brakes" for additional businesses to open.l I have my own thoughts but I'll save them for another time. Yup last week was a vacation week for me if I can really call it a vacation. Each day saw me putting in about two hours in the AM and of course I was still doing some stuff for P4P in the evening. One thing I like about this site is that I can schedule...

COVID19 Remote Working Day One Hundred and Forty-Six of Selling Copiers What a nasty day today in Jersey. Torrents of rain along with a temperature that couldn't climb above 55 degrees. Seems we'll have the same weather tomorrow also. Back on September 25th our Governor signed another Health Emergency Order for another 30 days. By late next week we'll know if the order is extended for yet another month. Positive COVID19 tests have been on the rise for the last week and a half in New Jersey.

COVID19 Remote Working Day One Hundred and Fifty-Nine of Selling Copiers The weathers been pretty lousy the since Tuesday and it looks that it will stay that way into tomorrow. No heat, no sun, just cloudy wet fifty degree weather. That's what I woke up this morning and that's pretty much how I felt until the mid part of the day. I did a bad thing this morning and read our Governors proclamation/law/rules about what's expecting of companies and their employees if they are going back to the...

Well......, nothing today. I wasn't able to connect with any one of the five opportunities today. All I can say is thank goodness there are still two days left! I'm sure some are probably trying to avoid me like the plague at this time, however that's not going to stop me from going my job tomorrow and day after tomorrow. I was able to get some prep work for some of the accounts that may have a chance of moving forward in January. There was no sense if making a ton of calls or emails since...

COVID19 Remote Working Day Two Hundred and Four of Selling Copiers I will be the first to admit that it's been challenging to get the motivation back after Christmas and New Years break. COVID19 Remote Working Day Two Hundred and Forty-Nine of Selling Copiers Within a week or two at least here in the Northeast we'll hit the one year mark for COVID19. Two hundred and sixty-five days would mark the full year of selling days, but that doesn't include holidays so the real number is probably 21.5 work days a month which brings us to two hundred and fifty-eight days. At this point in time it's really hard for me to process how long this has been going. Some news in New Jersey, our...

COVID19 Remote Working Day Two Hundred and Sixty-Five of Selling Copiers Managed IT, BDR & Content According to our Governor New Jersey is in another surge even with almost having two million people vaccinated in the last two months. There were two software models that showed a moderate surge over the next 90 days with an average of 6,000 infections a day and then a super surge which would have us back at 8,000-9,000 per day. Our Governor stated, "we are in for a long hot summer". You...

Will Delta Variant Push Us Back One More Time?

Just when I thought the coast was clear of COVID19 it seems that we may be in for a bumpy ride. New Jersey Where oh were do I start? During our Governors press briefing today he stated that the Delta variant cases are up 22% statewide. In addition the RT has risen to 1.37 (anything over 1.0 means the virus is spreading). While our Governor has not mandated any restrictions other than those in already in place he did state that they may be coming down the road if the situation gets worse.

Mask, Vaccinate or Do As I Say!

Note the picture of Governor Phil Murphy from New Jersey. Our beloved Governor was in attendance at the New Jersey State League of Municipalities today in Atlantic City, NJ giving a speech to those guests pictured. I'm thinking this was a select group of guests he was speaking to. However let me regress a bit. Each year the NJLM holds a conference in Atlantic City, NJ and in most cases that conference can attract 8K-16K attendees and vendors. I was in attendance for three days working the...

Jack will be back!! RNC missed the mark on not backing him harder that's for sure! Phil sucks man, so does every hypocrite out there through all this crap. The irony of the presentation of ID to gain entry into this event but not be needed for voting is disgraceful. Like another commenter said, Rules for thee, not for me! BS!!

@TML The RNC is fractured in NJ and has been that way for the last 20 - 30 years. We can win a Governorship, but we can't win where it counts for change and that's with the state senate and assembly. However this year we gained seats in both houses and knocked out the second most powerful dem in the state, It's still a tough road for red in NJ
