Re: COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Forty-Three of Sales

SalesServiceGuy ·
I just created my own YouTube channel doing product videos with future ones planned mostly focussed on MS365. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OotckdOtEg ... and I am working Linkedin a lot more in different ways. Most of the people I know say they have never gotten a lead from Linkedin. They think of this site as a static business card talking about who they are and not what they can do for the customer. They never post to Linkedin. Like most things, Linkedin requires almost daily work to...

SSG that's an awesome video! You can send links to clients, and direct them to your channel. It's a virtual demo that keeps on giving. Kudos I have some of the same issues with getting appointments through Linkedin, however I know of several peeps that use Linkedin as their only source for prospecting and they are doing well. I will keep working it since I have a Navigator account now

Re: Google Cloud Print Opens Access to Printers Across the Globe

Basically your phone is sending the file to a PC or server that is running google chrome and is signed into your google account. You'd need to install and set up chrome on said PC/server as well as the cloud printing service and then download a. Cloud print app on your phone or tablet. You open the app and choose a file to print.

Re: Google Cloud Print Opens Access to Printers Across the Globe

The MFP is already connected to the internet. The Cloud Print client for the PC connected to the MFP identifies the printers that are connected to that PC. As long as that PC is online, running Chrome & you are logged in to your Google account, you can select the document you want to print from the Cloud Print app on your mobile device, select the settings (this is still in beta), and it will send the print job to the printer to which you choose to print. That PC is essentially acting as...

SSG that is good info....thanks for sharing but this is really not that hard. You can use google print to send a print job to workstation that is running google chrome and configured with the local printer. I have done this from my living room as a test to 3 different printers and walked into the showroom when I got to the office and went around a retrieved all the print jobs. This is a FREE solution once configured properly. I have not heard of Breezy before so will have to research that to...

Hey Art, You can scan to Google Docs (now called Google Drive), Microsoft Exchange, Email, Shared Network, as per a regular imageRUNNER ADVANCE unit. Yes, you can get the booklet finisher on a 4225.

You can scan to Mailboxes (like Ricoh's document server, but better) and an Advanced Box as well (similar to dropbox). Anything else requires additional software.

From the Ricoh's I've played around with, you can see all of the file names in the document server, but require authentication to print/send the file. Canon's units can have up to 100 mailboxes that can be individually named. Files are then securely stored inside each mailbox so that non-authenticated users cannot see what's inside someone else's mailbox.

Re: Scan to Google Drive

Art Post ·
You should be able to set it up as a direct scan to folder. Just put in the path to shared google drive folder that is located on a pc. You can then scan to that folder only. Using ICE you would be able to see all of the folders that are in Google Drive.
Reply

Re: Scan to Google Drive

jswinberlin ·
Art is correct. Like Dropbox or OneDrive, you can scan to a folder in the user directory that is linked to the cloud account. ICE allows you to scan to the cloud without having the PC in the middle and allows users to have access to any cloud account, not just the one on a PC. The workaround described would require the cloud app folder to be installed on the PC therefore any user would need to have a PC with said cloud app running on it.

Re: Mobile Print Problem

txeagle24 ·
This sounds really basic, but I wonder if Google Cloud Print would work. Ricoh just launched their app for Google Cloud Print, & this is one of the compatible models. It isn't available in the Play Store but rather has to be loaded into the machine. I use Google Cloud Print all the time to print web pages on older Ricoh gear, although it does use Chrome running on my desktop to process the job. The Google Cloud Print app running on the machine would eliminate that need, so I wonder if it...

If you work with any school district this is huge. I have a school district client that has abandoned PCs in favor of tablets, chrome books and chrome boxes for the teaches classrooms and students. They run Google Apps For Education on about 400 devices. Printing is all done through Google Chrome. The benefits for a school district to do this are amazing. Unfortunately Ricoh was a little late to the game on this one.

Hey Jeff, Art's Box Approach (I believe) is using 4 different methods of communication: Phone Call LinkedIn Email In-Person Cold Call You "box" the prospect in until they finally give you the time of day. Using all 4 methods of communication ensures that you are optimizing your ability to reach the DM via his preferred method.

Re: RICOH BRINGS ‘CLOUD PRINT’ TO BUSINESS-CLASS MFPS

Ricoh would try to charge for this. In my opinion, this should be included as a firmware update that brings additional value to the client & potentially helps Ricoh and its dealers capture more prints from mobile devices. I do like the idea of Ricoh starting to offer additional features via firmware installation (chargeable or not). If they truly want to be a Services-led organization, we should be able to add features like this or OCR to products across the line. It's ridiculous that if...

Re: RICOH BRINGS ‘CLOUD PRINT’ TO BUSINESS-CLASS MFPS

They don't need to replaced. They are great boxes but need to be made current by making them compatible with new features like OCR & Smart Operations Panel. Update them using firmware. Imagine how much more money Ricoh could make if they only updated monochrome systems half as often (no need to manufacture a new design) but provided new features via firmware update & potential add-ons. Color is presently a different story since the quality keeps improving but not for long.

k, and the day will come soon, when only color systems are offered. I'm not holding my breath on Ricoh just updating the MP4002/5002. Yes, would be much easier for us and dealers to keep the same engine and just add additional features.

They won't just update it; I'm just stating my opinion. I predict the next version will feature a single-pass feeder and the additional features.
