SSG that's an awesome video! You can send links to clients, and direct them to your channel. It's a virtual demo that keeps on giving. Kudos I have some of the same issues with getting appointments through Linkedin, however I know of several peeps that use Linkedin as their only source for prospecting and they are doing well. HI Ray and Happy New Year! The A4 Revolution will not happen until those A4 manufacturers provide A4 print devices with the A3 cost per page model along with advanced scanning and finishing. You're right that's there's only a small percentage of users that need 11x17. However 11x17 is only part of the picture with end users needs. The large disruption will be from those who can isolate the realities of the customers needs and sell based on those realities. Declining Marketplaces are disrupted when the old way continues delivering to all the market's customers the same way they did before the decline. Art, love this! You know my take on the integration of social into the sales process. Sales requires hard work as most will not put forth the effort. The reason why ones social anything stinks is their effort, plain and simple. Operating with an analig mindset in a digital world = death blow to a sales rep.

Art, You and I are from similar professional backgrounds and times. We started in 1980 selling Sharp and Juki typewriters. Everything sold near MSRP. Then the fax boom came and we caught that wave perfectly. We sold Ricoh thermal faxes for full list ($2995.00). If you were unsuccessful where you are, but are unhappy with the company or the product, then moving should not be a problem. But if you were successful, and happy, and only the money was the inducement to move, then I suggest you have a good chat to your current dealer/manager before jumping ship, as "the grass is never greener" in most case. Art, it's a part of the industry that I doubt you will get rid of. I would like to add my own "observation". I don't think that 99.9% of dealers do a good deal. If 99.9% was the case these instances would not even be noticed because they would be unheard of. I think the reality is that around 60-70% of dealers are OK. Another point is that the leasing companies do not give a damn about the state of the copier at the end of a lease. As long as the customer has made all the payments they're...

It's easy to work out where the lease co's make their money. Every time a deal is upgraded early the early settlement discount is a paltry sum (3%). The effective interest rates are therefore huge. This settlement is then more often added to a new lease and interested lumped on top of that. There's no factoring in of a residual kit value for the lease companies, too little money for too much effort and management. That's why they don't handle the kit and insist the customer or dealer does...

I do a lot of "contract disassembling" and am very successful at it - It's kind of like a fun sport or hobby to me. US & UK contract law are almost exactly the same. That would be an unenforceable penalty in both UK & US. A3 (11 x 17) and A4 (8 1/2 x 11) can be run at the same time with auto paper select making what you put in what you get out using mixed-originals and the mixed originals setting. The sizes you mention are European, but I'm sure they will work. As long as it's a standard document size it should work.

What came next with some dealers in the Oz market, was a guarantee that the client's copy costs would not rise annually, above a maximum of 10% which most clients would agree to. Or that it would only rise by the CPI, which these days is a joke of a deal, as it is only around 2%. But some now guarantee to hold the pricing for the term of the rental agreement, which at 5 years is just down right stupid.This has now become a lot more prevalent, as weak salesmen sell (if you can call it...

Hello Garrett - The dreaded "Evergreen" clause. This clause has caused many problems customer and dealers over the years. Hey Jeff No, we did not use the eQuill/eWriter. I thought we should have put this to good use for our sales team. The usage of the eQuill in the field would have enable many conversations about how we use it, how we set the system up, and what was our back end process. I’m with you. In July i surpassed my yearly quota and set a goal of 1,000,000. I knew it was a stretch but thought “what the hell, let’s give it the best shot.” December has not been terribly kind. I’ve helped our reps get some deals closed and while doing that had moved things to other dates etc. had about 60,000 orders that look like they will go to January unless something happens before weeks end. Jason WOW, congrats on the excellent year! You're right about the time thing, no matter how hard we try, there's no telling of forecasting the future. Unless you have an obscene pipeline, and that's what I'm planning for in 2018. BTW, Jersey just seems to be getting worse and worse, do you think a Jersey accent would work well in North Carolina?

I order the Smart Op Panel with almost every one of these I sell and get nothing but rave reviews. The only exceptions are with customers that are using or considering using embedded solutions since Ricoh has yet to tell us that embedded solutions will work with the Smart Op Panel.

Yes that means I have a lot of time left as well but I wouldn't wish this guys work ethic on any sales manager. He is the laziest person I have probably ever managed. He is pretty much just wasting oxygen in my office. He is a straight commission employee and a pain in the a$$. We put him on straight commission and let him do what he wants in a very rural territory because we are 99.9999% sure he is going to sue us when he quits or is fired. I think buying Nuance would be a great opportunity for Samsung to get deeper in the solutions side of the industry. However, I 100% agree with Yeti that it's too small of a division of Nuance. Knowing that iPhone's Siri uses Nuance technology gives Samsung huge opportunities to work with or against Apple.
