Re: PPDM from Ricoh, Questions

I don't know what Ricoh's opinion would be on this (don't really care) but we accumulate licenses and then distribute them strategically. I sold a single license last week for $350 and charged an additional $150 for client PC install and limited training. Since we have no cost, my company counts it all as GP. I quoted a C300 and said we would include a PPDM license for free if they bought two C300's. I am able to provide a value-add at no cost to me. C300 doesn't come with PPDM but it can if...

What margin??? I think the spread between dealer cost and MSRP is about $400. For me to be comfortable giving the customer the level of support I give them on an MFP after the sale I would need to walk away with at least $350 in my commission check on the deal. That means I would need to charge at least $2,100 for the sale and installation of this product. That's why I don't pay much attention to small machines. Just can't make enough on them. I wind up giving more support after the sale on...

These require significantly less service/support than the Ricoh table-top machines. The opportunity to make money on these is by selling them to replace printers as part of an MPS engagement & making your money on the aftermarket. Also, if you're replacing an MP2000 machine, and the customer doesn't need 11 x 17, they would be thrilled with this machine, and you could make solid margin because of the price spread between the MP2000 and this unit. I'll be curious to see how the Ricoh...

From: Lee Sent: 5/31/2002 11:11 PM I hope the customer realizes that the $700 a year really doesn't cover a whole lot, since almost everything in the machine is considered a supply item. I played around with a 220 once doing what you are talking about. The 220 had the ability to print straight TIFF files. I took a 350 with an Axis 700 scan server and plugged in the IP address of the 220 in to the Axis 700 as a destination. When I selected the 220 destination on the Axis 700 and scanned my...

Had streampunch installed on our demo room machine for "2 days" ran about 1,000 punches worked great! Customer is running 2-2105 tandem and each machine runs approximately 350-450,000/month; approx. 10-15% 19 hole punched. I think they are still finding "chads" on the floor even though we have removed it from the unit. Still no word from Ricoh nor GBC on "the fix". Hoping for the latter part of the week for a reply. Side note: does Canon IR105 offer same GBC unit or none at all?

Boy, it looks like our whole company is responding here. As a former "real" tech, and long time service manager of a long time Ricoh dealer and relatively new Kyocera Mita dealer, my opinion is that over all, the Kyocera products are much more reliable, have much longer PM cycles and require much less service time for both the infrequent emergency calls and PM's. Bottom line...much cheaper to service! Although the 2035 is an improvement over it's predecessors (350, 1035) it's not a herritage...

The one I just sold had an additional paper tray and the finsiher and cabinet. Muratec MSRP is $4,995 for 4550, I think $800 for finisher and $350 for paper tray and $400 for cabinet. What I have been doing is not leading with this machine, I am leading with traditional A3 systems. When I get an objection, whether competition or price, I then ask the user if 11x17 is really needed to copy, print or scan. In most cases the answer is NO, from there I proceed to tell the story about how A4...

Was a standalone machine. They were making a copy of an inkjet print. Naturally the CF3102 did a better job at reproducing this image as expected. the 350 and the 1045 had a problem with the drum end seals, they would flatten out and you would dust at the ends. change those seals with the drum and you will see a much cleaner machine.also if the waste toner collects to long it will spill out mainly on the rear side which can also look like bad seals. the 1045 dev roller on op side will build up a coating, ricoh modified the roller but same results. remove roller andscotch brite it clean, making sure it is clean before reinstalling, this...

Shaja ·
We're dual line Konica and Ricoh. That info is accurate for some of the bizhub line, but not every model. The 350-250-200 monochrome engine, for example, does not do that. But, the C351 and C450 color engines do. No repercussions if engine is rated for the weight and paper meets spec. Otherwise, we'd handle it like any other service issue where the problem is caused by client's actions.

All you have to do is look at the competitive analysis (See Attached) between the Ricoh C4503 and C6502 against the competitors from Canon, Xerox, and KM to see how much of a difference True Adobe PostScript makes in the printing speed. Emulation machines are noticeably slower, to the point that you could argue that a lesser Ricoh needs to be proposed in order to compare accurately.
