Re: Ricoh MPC 8002SP Web Browser Review

Art - Please note that the optional Smart Operation Panel does not support the MP C8002SP engine. That is an option on Ricoh's new new 30/35/45/55/60 Color MFPs.

I think he probably posted that because you have a picture of the Smart Operation Panel at the top of the blog article.

I was more concerned by the subject title that was called "MP 8002SP Web Browser Reviewed". I just didn't want any confusion that the new color '02 models supported Smart Operation Panel.

Get a quote from a Ricoh Professional...Now that's funny. But don't worry the dealers are the most important part of Ricoh's strategy and plans going forward. They can't even update the Savin or Lanier site. Being a Savin dealer I have people rather frequently who go on the site and are turned off by how old and outdated it looks.

I received an email from someone today, that because of this blog and the comments, this was escalated to the Dealer Council. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Will be interesting to see what, if anything, ever comes of it. We have talked a lot before about leads from the manufacturer. Maybe, just maybe, that request a quote will be shared with dealers as well. Of course with is being a Savin dealer I won't hold my breath that "Ricoh" will send us leads. I've gotten a couple in the last few years but they came from the Savin website requests. Not sure what I've gotten from Ricoh lately except heartburn and stress.

The time is now to add more contacts to my database. I use a box marketing approach to reach out to those accounts that I would like to do business with. Thus, today I picked up a magazine that listed the Top Ten Engineering Firms in NJ. My method of madness is to reach out to them in a variety of ways. One of those ways is with LinkedIn. Many Reasons Why You Don't Buy A Copier from from the Web

Art Post ·
With a recent appointment, my sales process took a few steps back when my prospect (net new client) challenged my pricing for a new A3 black Ricoh device. They stated that the price of the same device on the web was $2,500 less than my price and wanted to know WHY we were so much more expensive. Just as my prospect has the power of the web, so do I. After asking a few questions I was able to find the same web store and model that they were referencing. After a few minutes I was able to...

Great post. Usually it is with a Samsung or Canon Large Format that gives us the most fits online so for the MFP's we created a price list for the customer. It includes setup, moving, installing, networking (per computer) training and usually comes out to around $1,500.00 and is broken down as a list of line items so they can see how much each costs. That usually helps, and if not we usually receive a call from the customer asking us to come and "help" them, to which our response is " no...

In your check list did you include, add the cost of the initial toner and developer to set up the copier. I understand some copiers ship with a starter toner and full strength developer. I cannot speak for other brands but with Toshiba the set up instructions are not in the box. The tech has to download them. I cannot speak for other brands but a complete rookie trying to set up a Toshiba copier would have a hard time completing the task and could damage the copier in the process.
