Ricoh are offering one of my customers a £500 service to remove the hard drive from the copier for Data Protection reasons. As they have 4 machines going, this isn’t cheap. Is this really needed. What gets stored on the copier that may require this service? read the rest of threads here

Art, This seems a little high ($660.00 US). If they are replacing the hard drive with a new one and loading the necessary System Software I don't think this is unreasonable. We have a digital erase box that can clean a hard drive beyond forensic recovery. But you still need to reload system software. Vince
