Most everyone hates the touch screen/Apple like interface, look how small the start button is and also incorrectly put in a job and to reset it you gave to scroll to the bottom of the page, lastly for the most part you cannot customize the screen like xerox can with their vetsalink models.

Re: Xerox says exploring potential deal for financing business

Ray Stasiezcko ·
Maybe HP buys the finance business. should fit right in with their global finance expansion. Not to mention HP will eventually buy the entire Xerox business, as soon as carl gets all the operating cost lower. Xerox is working on a strategy to sell. It won't be long before HP opens the garage in Palo Alto and welcomes the new team from Rochester.

Re: Xerox (XRX) Q1 2019 Earnings Call Transcript

It's my understanding that most of these savings came from the backs of the employees and the consolidation of many Global and Xerox locations. Yes, Xerox is profitable, but I also know of many xclint sales people that have left the Global (XBS) ranks. You just can't replace these peeps overnight. Norwalk-based Xerox jettisoned 400 more jobs in the first quarter of the year while leaving unfilled roughly another 1,100 that opened up as a result of employee attrition. The reductions took Xerox’s workforce to 30,900 people at the end of March. Under CEO John Visentin, revenue dropped 9 percent from a year earlier to $2.2 billion, but profits surged to $133 million from $23 million in the first quarter of 2018. Shares were down 5 percent Thursday to $32.17, but remain up 60 percent on...

interesting, but no one copies documents that much anymore. The other stuff is pretty cool also. I do think that Alexa does have a place in the office as a research tool, rather than scrolling through pages of the internet. "Alexa, how many images per minute can the Ricoh MP C2504SPex scan at 300dpi?" Now that would be cool for competitive data collection.

I have read in several places that this new class of personal assistants such as Alexa are seen as potential security hazards. No IT manager would ever allow it. If you like to swear at or kick your copier, Alexa will likely not respond.

I think Samsung buys Sharp and I do think Xerox will be sold off to someone but I don't know who that would be. I could see another IKON scenario between Canon and Ricoh trying to buy Xerox to get all their dealers back.

I believe Xerox first started airing the Xerox "Brother Domenic" commercials in 1977. I though the first one may have been aired with the 1977 SuperBowl, anyhow, I distinctly remember those Xerox commercials and would have thought that a mere three years later I would get my start in the copier industry! Thought I would jump in Art. Sounds like you are in a competitive with a Xerox. The strength of the ConnectKey is not the address book functions and all the other standard goodies but the ability of the dealer and end user IT personel to be able to do a log me in session straight to the panel remotely. Training, setting up complicated jobs and troubleshooting can all be done through the virtual panel just like a log me in session. Not sure if Ricoh has that capability but it the Xerox rep is...
