Jayson, I am also considering becoming CDIA certified. I'm working for a Savin dealer and I'm told that all Savin management is required to have a CDIA certification. I just recently finished taking the Ricoh U. Image Management Certification Program in an effort to prepare myself for the CDIA test. However, after finishing the Ricoh certification, I'm afraid that it may be too brand specific to do me any good on the CDIA test which I am told is completely un-brand specific. I would,...

You have to make real sure that your drum synchronization settings are as good as you can get them, otherwise, you will experience significant "shadowing", from the offset of wet ink onto the second unit. If the settings are good. The overall quality is acceptable in most cases. Attached is a Getstener brand brochure. I follow it with some images. Hope it helps. Jim.

Ricoh's Priport™JP5800 digital duplicator delivers a higher level of quality and performance in a user-friendly design. With a printing speed of up to 120 sheets/min. and an extensive paper capacity of 2500 sheets, the largest duplicating jobs can be handled swiftly and without interruption. In addition to this, you can load two types of paper at once. As an added advantage, the Priport™JP5800 can be placed in commercial offices for copying purposes. There are two words that are critical to use when responding to an objection. And two words NOT to say. What are these words? Examples When you hear the objection: "We buy all of our imaging supplies from (your competitor), the XYZ Company." Some may respond (and the natural inclination could be to say): "Yes, but the XYZ Company doesn't stock Ricoh brand copier toner and we can supply you with Ricoh products." Two words NOT to say: "Yes, but . . ." Because it sounds argumentative.

These words will get better results when responding to most objections: "I understand." These two words can make a huge difference in the way prospects respond to you. Example: "I understand. Some of my other customers used to buy their imaging supplies from XYZ and what they found was, XYZ didn’t stock Ricoh Brand toner. We stock most Ricoh products on a regular basis here in our warehouse in addition to [insert another type of products you stock]. Do you need any Ricoh toner today?" NOTE:...

RUMOR has it that Ricoh will change the name of the company to IKON Americas Corporation, effective August 1, 2009. RBS will fold into IKON, with several offices closing across the country. This new IKON direct organization will be the only distribution channel selling 'Ricoh' brand products, while the remaining "strong" Independent Dealers can sell Lanier and Savin (for a limited time) at an approximate 20% higher price than IKON will enjoy. RFG Dual Line Dealers will be requested to drop...

Those employees who lost their jobs can re-apply, but the "new" positions will be far fewer. Here's what I know so far: -If you have an existing Parts account, you'll keep it. Whew.

Chuck, with the current "troubled times" (words from Frank Cannata on the latest Live Wire / Cannata Report) at Ricoh, it now makes sense that either Savin or Lanier, or both brands, get elimintated. Just as GM sells Hummer and gives Saturn to the Penske group. It is a shame that on the 50th Anniversary of Savin, started in 1959, it's existence may disappear. I should include that the orignal machine wa out in the field with a major toner spill. After the Tech (not me) vaccumed the machine out, it started the SC322 codes. It was then brought back to our shop, where other Techs (not me) shotguned MANY parts towards the orignal machine from a new machine. Apparently in the process, they manganed to "transfer" the SC322 to the brand new machine.
