Freedom is not a pass to be Disrespectful

Ray Stasiezcko ·
It’s 2018 two hundred forty-two years since the American Revolution ended and began the greatest government experiment in history. Our political landscape is no calmer today than it was in the beginning or, through the decades since its beginning. Our nation’s political partisanship seems to be the one consistent thing to maintaining our government. One should fear too much agreement over the peaceful diplomatic disagreements. It seems that many have blended protest with disrespect then...

How is not the question which begins innovation - Why is

Ray Stasieczko (Guest) ·
When we think about innovation we don’t start this thinking process in understanding how something can be better we focus on why something should be better. The why it’s needed - is our driving force. So if this is true why is it that so many organization get stuck in the how? I believe it’s because the easiest way to procrastinate moving forward is by bogging down your drive with the madness of needing absolutes. “When you stop looking for absolutes, is when you discover the excitement of...

When Will Dion Write the Check to Carl?

Art Post ·
It has been about 20 months since I told the crowd I was speaking to at the RemaxWorld Summit in Zhuhai China that HP would buy Xerox. Soon after, another speaker would educate the audience on how that was never going to happen. I believe anyone who says “that will never happen” is void of the ability to imagine. I also spoke of the bigger threat for the remanufacturers. I stated it would not be the non-patent infringing new builds. It will be the OEMs as they fight to capture the...

Special Report from Ray! (Video)

Art Post ·
Geesh, do I write the forward before or after the video? Ray Stasieczko makes some excellent points about the industry media not covering all of the news in our industry. I won't steal his thunder, but many of you know where I stand on this issue with other industry rags that I won't mention. There are web sites to visit if you only want the "happy" news about the industry or let's say the spin from one perspective. Over the years we've (Print4Pay Hotel) has always posted the good, the bad...

Imagined Possibilities take Investments

Art Post ·
Many will stick with what they know as they budget for what they need to know a fatal mistake. It seems as many see no value in investing it what could be based on what should be. After all, why would anyone pay for a maybe? Well, the innovators are doubling down their bets that the old way sticks to that thinking. “The price paid to explore can be defined while the true cost of unawareness; however, greater may never be known.” It’s that undetermined fee toward improvement which usually...

The Customer Experience Puzzle

Ray Stasiezcko ·
Customer Experience isn't evaluated by those who deliver it, it's evaluated by those who experience it. It seems as many organizations think customer experience is about how they deliver, service, or respond. In fact, Customer Experience is about how your customers interpret or (Experience) your deliverable. I was reading an article regarding customer experience and it seemed to be a laundry list of do's and don'ts. In reality, Customer Experience is where a deliverables business plan should...

Is the Imaging Channel a Bubble getting ready to Burst?

Ray Stasiezcko ·
Earlier last year I suggested that the acquisition activity through the imaging channel seemed a bit out of touch with the realities of the market. My argument stems from the lack of diversification in products, services and their business structure. I questioned then and still question the logic in buying up a declining deliverable, a deliverable which continues to evaporate revenues and profits. Without a change in structure and product diversification, it seems many will soon realize what...

This, in my opinion, is 100% accurate. Clover may end up selling as well amidst declining revenue.

You do have a point about the declining deliverables. But there are other dealers that are raising the stakes with IT and Content. One of our big initiatives this year is to have double digit growth with content.

The dealers will also have to redefine how they deliver to the majority of their print customers.

When it becomes time to change the deliverables it will be too late for many of them. Personally, I don't think the change will come that quick to SMB accounts. Larger accounts without a doubt, going to come down to geographical markets here in the US.

One of the best transformations I know of happened a couple of years ago in Minnesota, a BTA sized dealer sold his entire print division to Marco. the owner turned his business into a software-only company, they are currently doing amazing things with Laserfiche and Sharepoint,
