Art, as usual, you hit the nail on the head! Using lockout specs for things such printer drivers and, also, scanner drivers can be a big deal to help sales. This is why I'm an advocate of using the emerging open source scanner driver specification with TWAIN Direct , but adding lockout features such as single sign-on authentication, PDF/R file creation or blockchain/NFT the scanned images as tokens! Each one of these features is a big deal itself, but combine them together and you can offer...
