Re: Hiring Sales Reps - what are you hearing

Art Post ·
Surprising there are no replies yet. I would figure this to be a "hot" topic. We recently found one in the age demographic that will work out. He has more than a 45 minute ride, has closed a few orders already. Maybe you need to show them $500 at the interview and ask how they would like to get that $500, by working a week or trying to talk you out of it. After reading your thread it seems that neither of those "salespeople" have the "desire" to compete, yet alone the determination to "win".

Don't drive yourself nutso with ScanRouter. It was a dog when it was supported. Your 15cpm supports Scan to folder and is much easier to configure and maintain. And 64bit Vista? forgettaboutit. Vista Home is not scan friendly because the permissions are so hard to find. But it can be done. If you decide to go to the dark side (Mac) it supports SMB (scan to folder) also.

This leads me to ask if there is any brand out there that is really good with printing onto glossy paper? I mean a fuser is a fuser no matter who makes it I thought, but maybe a certain brand fuser has some kind of advantage? And taking it further, why? Is there a different substance being used in the materials, ie: pressure or hot roller or maybe the toner adheres to the paper better with some brands, and if so what is in the toner that does that? Are there any other limitation with mail2print other than if you send multiple attachments only the first attachement would be printed and the fact that mail2print does not support hi compression pdf. I know there's the cost of the PSIII when working with the other mfp's to enable mail2print. But what's the cost to use the Hot Spot?

Very good points Art. The only print production (as some would call it) would be 85, 95, 110ppm. But these are more large departmental units. Mostly it is the 85ppm that is being pushed. There are only a few major players when you get higher than that. The very low end has always been a issue for them. Mostly the difference are in the RADF, 1st tray and media weights. Qualifying the needs are very important. There is a few grand price difference from these to the 5000 series as well. Here's the issue.... we need to met a budget with mp2000spf, the one problem with the mp2000spf is that is will not copy mized size orginals, the customer intends to scan all documents anyway, so the thinking is to scan to a "hot folder" and then see if there is sometime of program that will print the file to a network mfp or printer asap, thus negating the need for copy of mixed size originals!

You tip your hand and lose some of the thunder you will get from your proposal. 4.) You inspire additional questions and thought processes that the prospect will then discuss with competitors. 5.)
