Tx, ty for this this. I don't bundle MA/Supplies. I just don't want my customer to get jammed in case there is a loss. We've had quite a few losses here in NJ with the storm from a few years ago. I'm just looking for the right thing to do for customers who opt out of the leasing companies insurance. I'm somewhat skeptical of giving them stream of payments plus residual, may open up a can of worms.

I have one!! In downtown Princeton, NJ (right across the street from Princeton University). Had just demo'd a small Adler Royal 209 (boy was that unit a piece of garbage). Well, rolled the copier gurney into the back of the car. Pulled out and into traffic, stopped at the light, and being young and foolish, I gunned the gas pedal with the green light. The car went forward the copier gurney and copier wne backwards and landed on the street, seems like I forgot to close the hatch!! It was a...

Certainly not to come across as a conspiracy theorist (although that can sometimes be fun, too), but didn’t the video show that return shipping paperwork was lying on the platen glass on at least one of the copiers purchased? I wonder how many copiers in that NJ warehouse have shipping paperwork attached or simply lying under the ADF. Wouldn’t an identity thief looking to purchase a copier be able to browse the NJ warehouse looking for shipping paperwork from financial institutions and...

Actually, I have been comfortable with this, because if some rich guy goes and buys a 10 million jet, they will pay one million in taxes and if that person afford the jet, I'm sure they can afford the tax. What it comes down to is that it's going to cost money to fix the problem. However everyone needs to pay, it can't be burdened on the middleclass. Just think of all the illegals in the country and I see em here in NJ, most are paid cash (never filing taxes), well as soon as they go to buy...

Found out today, that Assurant does cover floods, I actually got a document from them about their services and I'll post it here later. Seems like most BOP policies will not cover floods, and Assurant will. However this leads to another issue, when leasing companies ask for "proof of insurance" and get a copy of the rider, do they not check to see if their equipment is covered in case of flood? If they miss this and do not charge for insurance is it then their loss and not the lessee? Some...

I'm in the same boat. I now think that taking the leasing company's insurance is the best option for the customer. It's interesting, I think I've found someone doing a similar scam here in NJ. Same MO for churches however it seems upgrades then early, promises to make payments on the old lease, but a few have had to hound him to get the money and he is removing the old systems and thoughts are he is renting them or releasing for a shorter term. The leasing company is wise to this however they have not been able to catch him yet. This is only what I heard, if true it's a shame this crap happens all over.

The key for Minolta Dealers, is that the CF2001, CF 1501 are designed for end user involement. All consumables can be replaced by the end user with not tech involvement. Or they dealer could choose limited end user replacement or replacement only by a technican. The key is end user replacement, just like HP! From the Mind of Minolta: The labor cost based on End User capability to replace the TFU's. Dealers need to be encouraged to allow more customer involvment. Service advantage over our...
