Re: Desktop Shortcut to Scanned Images via store to HDD in scanner

fisher ·
Its pretty strait forward. Default the scanner to Store File to HDD. At the PC create a desktop shortcut to Web Image Monitor. Have customer click on Print Job/Store File -------> Document server. They will be able to download the document. The real problem though is you are encountering a lazy IT guy. Any IT guy worth his salt will help you set up scan to folder.

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

RICOH PRO 907/1107/1357 PRODUCTION PRINTER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q. Where do the new Pro Series Production Printers fit in the Ricoh high volume monochrome printer product line? A. The new Pro Series Production Printers are successors to the highly successful Digital Document Publisher models, the DDP70e and the DDP92. I received a telephone help call from one of our clients who had a malfunction code on their new copier. To clear these malfunction codes it’s usually a case of opening the front door for a few seconds and then closing it again. I asked the client to do this and then come back to the telephone. He returned a few moments later and asked “now what” I asked what happened when he opened and shut the front door, did it clear the code. “no’ was the reply, “it just got colder in here” He’d opened...

Re: Scan on MP171spf and Print on SPC420DN

Art Post (Guest) ·
You can have it scan to a folder and then have a program or script monitor that folder and tell it to print to the printer. I don't think it can be done via email unless you are using the C420DN-KP. There has been alot of discussions about this on the forums as of late. Can anyone provide the exact solution that monitors the scan folder and then sends the document to the printer?

Try this: Instead of browsing from the copier to set the path use Web Image Monitor to manually enter the path, user name and password. For some reason this works with Windows 7 when nothing else will. Also using the IP address instead of the computer name in the path seems to work.

Re: PDF Direct Print

Update: To use the "scan to copy" feature> In Web Image Monitor add a destination with Protocol FTP where the server is the IP Address of the device. Under folder authentication use admin w/ password of admin. With this, you can scan to an archive folder and the "scan to copy" destination and acheive 2 things at once. You can also scan from a black & white MFP that has color scanning to a color printer for poor mans color copying.

From: JasonR Sent: 10/11/2002 7:32 AM Remember that even Ricoh is saying that the 3850 is BUSINESS color, as such there is no way this machine can be used for "real" proofing. A lot of people throw around the word proofing when they mean "prints we can do before we show this to the customer" or "prints shown to the customer with an understanding this isn't a "press proof". I'm glad to hear the 3850 output looks good, and for "camera ready art" while it isn't the machine I would pick, I'm...

E-copy was just a way to get push scan to email/computer/etc. before Canon figured out how to get it into the copier without a seperate monitor and computer. The canon i models are less expensive than adding e-copy. E-copy does offer a little more user friendly applications, but I can not justify the cost versus an "i" model copier. Hope this helps.

Scott, What specifically is their application? Remember, the 2035/45, 1224/32, the 2090/2105, and 1060/75 all come with scan to e-mail out of the box. If they are sending to less than 2000 destinations, and don't require authentication. You're good to go out of the box. I'm told there is a way to create a csv? file form you e-mail address book and upload to the copier via smartnet monitor. If they require authentication or direct access to mailserver then you add Global Scan. Pete M.

I may be missing something but Scan Router Lite does not support scan to email so I don’t know how you could program email destinations. Scanrouter pro does allow you to make “quick dial keys” to email addresses All the systems that have embedded scan to email can have “email quick dial keys” set-up via the control panel or the web monitor. The 2022/27 is currently the only model that allows you to do both scan to folder and scan to email destination at the same time.

Instead of assuming what they know, start determining what they need/want to learn in order to fill in this gap and ensure clear communication. What may seem old or common to you is new to them. Use questions up front to uncover what's needed to fill in the gap. Example: "Just so I don't sound repetitive, how familiar are you with-?" I actually used Smart Device Monitor with a Canon a couple of weeks ago. It was a new account and the customer's Canon had an extensive addressbook. I was surprised that I was able to pull the addressbook out of the machine. The fields and the naming structure were all messed up but after a lot of mouse clicks and editing I had the addrerssbook from the Canon in a format I could uplode into the new Ricoh. Sure beat re-typing the entire addressbook.

Set up a shared folder on the network and browse for a folder in the address book. It should find the workgroup and all of the pc's in it.
