I haven't tried them yet. Still using Buyer Zone but they do email me about once a week wanting me to try it out. What are the details when you say "couple thousand minimum purchase"...They want you to prepay that amount?? We are using EDA Data now as well.

They want 30 bucks a lead. 1.000 a month commitment 2 months minimum. If they can’t supply enough to get to 1,000 they carry that forward. Using EDA also with decent success

Yes I have sold a couple of these. For the price these are fantastic. My service manager is impressed which is hard to do. Dual side scanning is a definite selling point. The cost per page is going to be higher of course. I would say in the .015 black and white and .11 color to be safe (depending on your market of course). Not as good as say the 6535 per say but the machine is less than half the cost. If the run more than a couple thousand a month I would move them up to the 6535cidn. Let me...

Been ages since I posted anything on here! Jason, back in the day for me Canon didn't do anything unless it was minimum $50k wholesale. KM on the other hand was extremely aggressive with doing whatever was needed to get our wholesale price down. We also had a fantastic dealer account manager though who would go to bat for us every time. In about 5 placements, I've been able to take customers from existing A4 color devices and put them into one of these models for not much more than what they were paying, the high cost of A4 color consumables was the key when the user was making about 1,000 color pages per month along with 1,500 or more black. The low price cpc is an advantage with the Ricoh models. I have used a few of these systems as seed models, meaning that they take the color unit and commit to the lowest possible...

I have one of these in the P4P market, after 4 months all seems well and customer is satisfied with media offereing and quality. The one thing that has changed for this unit, since its the same engine as the MPC6000 and MPC7000 is that default from the factory is 11x17 single click and lower consumable costs. I havn't seen one placement of the frontier in my territory yet. But that doesn't mean they aren't out there. I see the whole copier industry making a shift to A$ devices in the next 24 months or less, they have too. Price is the driving factor, I've heard it all about A4's, such as "A4's can't hold up to heavy volume", oh yea then why do I see laser printers with hundreds of thousands of prints on them and they weigh under 100lbs? Heck, I just came from an account that has 180K on a Ricoh...

I'm with Art. I think the A4 systems are in the market to stay and soon everyone will have them. Samsung will also have A3 systems within the next 18 months to be able to offer them with the A4's on bids and tenders. We shouldn't forget old HP when we have this discussion...they still collect more clicks in NA than any other manufacturer and they are seriously getting into the managed print business. It seems to me it is going to come down to who is going to gaurantee the client the toner on...

I think this is hilarious. When all else fails within your business model turn to being the low price leader. What ever happened to selling value. I thought business were in business to profit. I would be curious if they stole their current business model from RBS. Being the low price leader will get you somewhere for segment 1/2 but you sure are not going to be a very healthy & profitable company long term.

Hrmm, well, sure they are. Notice it doesn't say anything about Service or Supplies, we can assume those are either at their normal rate or slightly elevated. It doesn't say anything about lowering the lease rate on this MFD you are buying at "cost" either, so we can assume those are also either at normal or slightly elevated. If we also assume that their sales will increase by X amount due to the promotion, the only loss they could expect from this is if X amount of additional revenue...

Interesting approach to the sales process. Strikes me the next promo is for 10% below sticker price...of course unlike cars, manufacturers don't put a sticker price on MFP's to advise the public what the price is supposed to be. At this point we find the margin we are able to obtain on most sales of hardware barely covers the cost of sales for the product...any business profits come from services bundled around the hardware, either connectivity plans, support plans, supplies for colour etc.

KM has strengthened itself dramatically in the past 5 years and while losing this distribution channel is a kick in the rear, the biggest impact will be losing the high end Oce'. Would tend to think that will lead to KM getting deeper in bed with Kodak. I worked for Oce' for two years and frankly they are going to have to learn how NOT to sell on the lowest price now that they are being directed by Canon.

You might find this interesting: When I sold cars I learned that the "sticker" on new cars is the maximum sales price allowable by law. (this did not apply to trucks, SUV's, or used cars). No industry needs that level of Gov't interference, especially ours.

Haha, Thanks Shaja....I did some lurking on PrintPlant too Looks like the keys are quality output, reliability, and availability of service techs. Big advantages of the copier-makers' presses are price, size, and operator payroll cost savings. overall though it looks like the copier makers' presses are not replacing the indigos and iGens of the world. More like they are replacing lower-end light production systems.

Thanks Montecore, That makes sense from a business standpoint. I'm still having a hard time with the math though. If you are trying to figure out the effective purchase price, but only know the monthly lease payment, # months, and lease rate - do you have any ways to figure out the purchase price? 0.0302 percent of $6,200 is $198 so that only adds up to $6,339. But if you subtract $6,537 by $6,339 then you get $198 again. Suggesting that the purchase price is roughly 2 times the total lease...

If Montecore's explanation didn't cover it for you, then there must be some confusion what the question is. The monthly payment divided by the rate factor is the original funding amount. You'll notice there is no multiplication in this equation so if there is in yours, then your goal must be something different than determining the original purchase price. If you are trying to replace a unit by providing something for the same monthly payment, Montecore's equation tells you what your sales...

You're getting good answers, but sometimes the third of fourth approach to answering the question helps. Not to imply that the previous answers are incorrect or incomplete. 1. "Lease Rate" is a convenience, given to you so that you can multiply your selling price by a number and end up with a payment acceptable to the lessor. 2. The "Short answer" from your leasing company is "We'll do that deal for 36 months at 0.0302". 3. The "Long answer" which they will seldom give you is: - We believe...

Looks like MSRPs are around $100k for the C720 and $124k for the C720s. Doesnt do alot to fill the gaps between the C900 and C700EX in my opinion. There is still a big hole in the $65k to $100k range and considering that it shares almost all features with the C900, avoiding cannibalization is going to be tricky. Maybe a better fit as a low price alternative against the DC5000 or Canon C6000VP.

The solutions range in price from $99 to $599, depending on the solution, but the dealer has some control over the price. There are really only 9 core models (3 printers, 5 desktop MFP, 2 console MFP); the remaining 7 models are simply different standard configurations that are available. All products share the same user interface at the MFP and range in speed from 40ppm to 55ppm.

If you check the price changes between the Aficio C7500/C6000 and C7501/C6501 it may suggest that Ricoh is adjusting for currency rates. The mainframes are up around $4k and $7k respectively and MSPRs for most inherited options are up by about 15%
