Art- the # of your competitors didn’t change , their fingers and toes are now a whole lot farther away from their head. I picture you as Yankee Doodle Dandy and they are the Red Coats. Perhaps they will be as successful as .....Danka or IKON or RBS/AOE or GlobalXRX or ....

Scott: Of course one of the ways i keep up is with this web site, I can learn hardware and software as I "need to know" and still concentrate on prospecting, demoing and closing. To the new "recruit", how can one possible learn the features and benefits of the entire Ricoh line. We (COPI) sell the entire line, out of eight sales people we probably have two that have the knowledge to "sell it all"! I have seen numerous reps come and go, when they have had to learn product knowledge, sales and...

Hurray for Ricoh in New Zealand!!! This move is bound to increase your sales and allows you to move into a closed market for consumables, plus you'll be able to gain access to additional new new accounts!!! Wish the US would make a move like this!

I guess if you win just one award then you can state "Award Winning". Check it out a 300 page document feeder. Please correct me if I'm wrong, however you can't match Pantone colors without a color rip, right?

Looks like a really sweet looking unit, however is this really the spec for the paper support through the paper trays? 12" x 18" 140 lb index automatic duplexing from the drawers I like the 300 page document feeder also. I don't see an option for a fiery, is there one available?

Re: Samsung Electronics Closes Down Printer Business in 33 Years

It leaves the Samsung dealers pissed off, I know that. We are not terribly happy with them. They came to our office and told us they were adding one of our competitors as a dealer. We told them they better find someone quick to sell it before we drop the line and they have nothing.

I’ll go through my book in a little bit. I’m almost positive there are some that do. Could be wrong but I feel like we were quite impressed with that feature when we first became a dealer.

Since you are in the Industry Discussion Romm I assume that you are not asking about Ricoh. You also say printers rather than MFD's. I googles "printers that staple" and nothing came up but MFD's

Old Glory, yup you are correct, was not asking about Ricoh. Was curious if there was any printer based products that staple. I sure there might be a couple. I'm not finding any either. Quoting 8400N. Thank you for the reply, it's appreciated

Re: Epson launches $8000 colour printer

I spoke to Epson while at the BTA show on Orlando about this system. The System ships will all of that ink!! I did not even ask what the cost of the replacement cartridges were, I should have. Interesting to see if this system will pan out. Note the "buns" that are on each side of the system. On each side there are two huge bags of ink. Kinda reminds me of Princess Leia hair style!

List cost on K = $649 List cost for CMorY = $412 ea. 75,000 pages yield each

Re: Epson launches $8000 colour printer

Art Post ·
ty for this. Doing the math, black is .00865 and color is .005493 correct. Or are we adding 649 + 1,236 for a total of 1,885 and the dividing by 75,000 to get the cost per page. In that case the cpc would be .0251. tkern, have you sold any of these yet? Thoughts on the product?

Re: Epson launches $8000 colour printer

tkern ·
We are not a reseller for Epson at this time. We are merely testing the equipment and have been for some time. All they gave me is the "list price" for each bag of toner which is what I posted. I would assume CPC would be calculated the same way as a toner based machine. Based on my evaluation we would not be a reseller of the current machine and would wait until a page-wide array machine would come out to consider. The 24ppm is not accurate when printing high quality documents.

Re: Why printer security should be a priority for your organization

Art Post ·
Networked copiers & printers are end points on the network. In most cases firmware is hardly ever updated, in addition that existing copier and printer technology was developed 12-18 months prior to launch. It's all about risk, how much risk are you willing to take? For years the copier aka MFP industry almost never updated firmware for MFP's in the field unless there was an issue. No issues means no firmware updates. New IM series MFP's offer auto firmware updates. It's all about RISK,...

At 5 bucks a month and no minimums that seems to be a good offer if you only want to monitor a few wide formats, right? But if you have a fleet of 500? That's $2,500 per month. I understand that not every client will want the monitoring. I'm out in the street every day, and probably the biggest complaint I get from clients is that they can't have more than one toner of each color on hand, I hear this from net new prospects also. This is a good fit for wide format market place, and I can see...

I'm really bummed that no one can find the time to chime in. I'll start it off with something Adrian gave me via email. Eye-catching graphic. Dan Kennedy is using the “Top Secret” graphic to catch his prospect’s attention. My personal favourite is to use an envelope printed with my company logo in colour. This gives some branding art to my envelope to differentiate it from other pieces of mail they might have.
