Re: Perspectives on Riso

Jason H ·
I know this isn't, most likely, the perspective on the actual usage of the riso's but we had looked at becoming a dealer when someone in our market went out of business. They were the only riso dealer in our market. I find it easy to sell against the riso unless someone truly needs 150 ppm and doesn't care about anything else. It seems I only see them in church's now where they are very old school and they say "that's just the way we do it and don't want to change." We decoded agaonst being...

Re: Need HELP! Kyocera Color A3 question

dimaxusa ·
Top three points I make when against Kyocera. #1. Take them color samples from your device and any Kyocera because the color output is sub par on all units. If you don’t have access to one look in your crm for an account you co-exist with Kyocera in. Or the next time you have a knock out make some samples and keep them in a binder. If color quality is important to the customer it will be a win. Another point is showing them you get what you pay for, meaning 3 tier color is what they have...

We definitely are not out chasing them but we are much more versed talking about them and the benefits of buying them from us rather than the big box store. It has led to some very nice MPS accounts for us this past year. I don’t have a final count but I believe we added about 3 million new clicks this year from printer sales. Not breaking any records by any means but adding an extra 50k or so of revenue never hurts. And thanks to brother for having a minimum advertised price online for the...

No, Art. You're spot on. I haven't had many jobs outside the industry, but the majority of the old guard is so proud of the way they've always done it & receives so much validation from other dealers with the same mentality (via BTA, CDA, SDG, et al) that they often refuse to admit the need to change until it's practically too late. Re: Toshiba now has tier based CPC's?

Hi, we sell Toshiba in the UK. The current colour range can run with a two tiered counter already. We used to sell the Kyocera range with this feature it seemed to be good and won us business, but lost us money in service. When colour costs are dropping to 4p, the percentage of toner from the 4p is getting less. So to breaking this down into 3 tiers could seem marginal. But let say you could offer 1.5p for 2% coverage then 2.5p for 2-5% coverage and then 4p for above, you have now lost out...

My selling advantage is that with my system you can browse to folder from the MFP easily. Art

We were talking with KIP but my father did not want to order 2 or 3 machines at one time for inventory like they wanted us to. I talked with Oce' and the guy was pretty much like talking to a wall and said he didn't need anymore dealers in his territory and pretty much hung up. I would like to have an alternative and not be at Ricoh's mercy. I have tried to upgrade 3406's with 3406's and it doesn't go over that well.

No, we are not doing any of those agreements with our MFP's. With the printer the device billing would not include the drum, or fuser. Client would pay for those. Device billing is a practical maintenance agreement for the new A3 ink based MFP's. Epson will be launching their 100ppm color device shortly. The only consumables is the print head and the ink. It's rumored that the print head will be warranted for 3 years. In addition the print head is very costly. The idea would be to charge...

The difference was that it took the earth millions of years to make that volcano and it took 2,000 men just 3 years to cut that 100 square miles. If you really believe we can't have any effect on the environment, why do you pay for trash services? The solutions range in price from $99 to $599, depending on the solution, but the dealer has some control over the price. There are really only 9 core models (3 printers, 5 desktop MFP, 2 console MFP); the remaining 7 models are simply different standard configurations that are available. All products share the same user interface at the MFP and range in speed from 40ppm to 55ppm.

The Rules of Engagement may have been put in place to stem the tide of defections because they still need the independents for now. In 2-3-4...

I think that many used copiers available for resale still have the original dealer sticker on them. This would be the first step a lawyer would take to attach liability. It seems odd that either 3/4 or 4/4 of the copiers that the CBS reporter picked were Toshiba. Balanced reporting would suggest he should have bought a mix of machines. It also seems very long odds that 3/4 copiers the data expert examined had large amounts of personal data on them. The report seems a little contrived to me.
