Aside from RISO's SF5130, all of their duplicators now come standard with a network card for network printing. However, printing from MAC OS requires ordering a Mac Driver which requires a license key ordered from RISO - doesn't cost anything to order. Also, RISO's Mac Drivers are always behind with current Mac OS versions. They haven't released a driver compatible with OS X 10.15 even though it's been about 6 months since 10.15 was released. John, The PrintCopy Tool compares pretty favorably to Plotworks. I attached two documents to this post. The Product Support Guide lists differences between the two products. The PowerPoint has screen shots of all the settings in PrintCopy Tool. I hope this helps.

Art, we've got a rep that covers York / Gettysburg and he confirmed this. He said he heard it went down ~ 6 months ago and they started reaching out to clients towards the end of 2019 to let them know. Gonna be a big change as Quality had a lot of loyal clients (also were giving away service at rates like .003 & .032- > I've gotta imagine that'll change quickly)

Jay, We typically go after about any machine other than a Xerox. If someone wants us to service their machine and its not a complete piece of junk we will take it on and will get parts and supplies from dealers etc. until we can upgrade to one of our lines; Savin, Canon, or Samsung. We expect our reps to go out and take service agreements and we pay them the first months billing. Most don't like to mess with 30.00 agreements but they add up and eventually you find a big one. Hi, we sell Toshiba in the UK. The current colour range can run with a two tiered counter already. We used to sell the Kyocera range with this feature it seemed to be good and won us business, but lost us money in service. When colour costs are dropping to 4p, the percentage of toner from the 4p is getting less. So to breaking this down into 3 tiers could seem marginal. But let say you could offer 1.5p for 2% coverage then 2.5p for 2-5% coverage and then 4p for above, you have now lost out...

KIP 800's are doing great!!! Every single customer that has demoed it has ordered one. We have installed 6 and all are running great with no issue, we another 12 on order. Only bad part is it is taking weeks to get them. We may never place a "new" monochrome machine again.

Maven , What I tell my customers and when I'm out with sales reps is it's all about getting things done in less steps. I'm in the legal vertical so time is money and everyone has an hourly billable. Right now here's the average user scan: 1.) User walks up to MFP and logs in 2.) Finds their name via LDAP or enters manually and then enters client and matter 3.) Selects Scan to email 4.) We charge on an hourly basis for any connectivity support beyond the first 6 months of a system being installed. We have tested a program where clients can have it included in their contract but have received little interest in that.

We had never charged for it after the sale until about 6 months ago due to people calling all the time for driver installs, scanning issues related to their internet etc. We used to offer an optional network/it yearly agreement and people would decline and then start calling for help. We decided to send out, initially an opt-out to ever customer who had current devices, and after every sale send one out. So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

I used to work for a dealership that sold Sharp (when this came out). It is a very nice box, the ultrasonic feeding in awesome, and the pricing for parts and consumables is aggressive. The mistake that Sharp made was to not do a beta program with commercial printers and other high volume users. The irony of Larry's statement is that I would not consider Ricoh a player here. They are chasing Xerox, Canon etc in Seg. 6 and 7, and are seriously held back by their lack of a production color unit.

We tried the Universal PCL 6 driver, and it actually took away some functions. So, we switched to PCL 5e on the LAN and haven't seen any issues thus far. My fingers are firmly crossed, because i really do not want to install 150 local drivers.

Canon had a great section dedicated to their new OCE products at the Canon Expo in NYC. It seems to me that this was a well thought out acquisition. Oce's strengths are with Segment 6 machines, and B&W Wide format. Two areas that really augment Canon's offerings.

Fiery Vue makes this type of setup much, much easier. If it isn't intuitive, it probably cannot be completed with the driver available. PCL 6 will allow you do this, but maybe not PS within Adobe. From my experience, the driver options are accessed differently. How about sending the components of this job to the Doc Server and combining?

Art....looks like you found the culprit. My guess the modem was fine but the router would be what I would check. Usually once the IP on the MFP is set this will not change and should not zero out. What may be happening is you might be using a switch instead of a router...then your internet provider is using more intelligent DHCP servers that reset the IP address every 4 to 6 hours. Installing router will create an internal network with 192.168.xxx.xxx behind the firewall. I just did this...

Dude, that Universal print driver worked like a charm. Looks just like the PCL 6. I usually install the 5c but these machines are replacing two C6501's that are off lease and they are used to the PCL6. Also I got an email from Ricoh support in answer to the lack of drivers question. They pointed me to Ricoh-AP.com (Asia Pacific) and all the drivers are there. Nice save, Ricoh.

I, too, have only feedback regarding DDF. I have at least 6 placements who love it - easy to set-up and use. For the cost, which I cannot relate to the NSI product (Autostore, I assume), DDF has a nice bit of functionality - especially if sold as the basic + features package.

I think the local dealers biggest advantage against the National vendors is flexibility. Dealers naturally have much shorter chains of command due to having far less employees. Therefore, dealers can make quicker decisions. The National Vendors are always going to have the advantage of price and a lesser concern for profitability. I am with you 100% Old Glory. I think 6 years in the business has the feel of a great career with ample opportunity for improvement. Still spend a lot of time with unpaid services, but what else is a professional to do? Can't just leave'em hanging - they will never come back if you do.

I don't think you could have a selling sales manager who also (actually) manages 6 people. Selling sales mangers are great in areas that need someone in charge but the number of reps do not justify a manager (usually 2-3 reps). If you want someone to hire, train and actually manage people, don't give them a quota for individual sales. If you want someone to answer a few questions and turn in the month end paperwork without really "managing" anything, go with a selling sales manager.

The RB5000 shows on the Ikon 6/2 pricelist. Remember that the SR5000 must also be configured. Personally I prefer the various GBC punch options AND GBC sell an offline version (tabletop) thouhgh the hole alignments are not the same as the RB5000.
